Hanoi: Number of newly registered enterprises increased by 10.5% in 9 months of 2025

In the first 9 months of 2025, the number of newly registered enterprises increased by 10.5% over the same period last year; the number of enterprises returning to operation increased by 4.9%.

According to Hanoi City Statistics, in September, Hanoi City granted certificates to 3,063 newly established enterprises, an increase of 58.7% over the same period last year; registered capital reached 31.8 trillion VND, an increase of 90.1%; 572 enterprises resumed operations, an increase of 14.2%; 1,252 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend operations, an increase of 26.3%; 1,088 enterprises dissolved, 1.9 times higher than the same period.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the city granted certificates to nearly 25,000 newly established enterprises with registered capital of VND 271.7 trillion, an increase of 10.5% in the number of enterprises and an increase of 30.8% in registered capital over the same period last year; more than 8,000 enterprises resumed operations, an increase of 4.9%; 24,100 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend operations, an increase of 19%; 5,300 enterprises dissolved, an increase of 56.6%.

The results of the survey on business trends of enterprises in the processing and manufacturing industry in the third quarter of 2025 showed that 26.8% of enterprises assessed the production and business situation as better than in the second quarter of 2025; 47.4% of enterprises said that the production and business situation was stable and 25.8% of enterprises assessed that they encountered difficulties.

It is forecasted that in the last months of 2025, the production situation will have many bright spots as the number of orders continues to increase. 32.3% of enterprises believe that the trend will be better than in the third quarter of 2025; 48.8% of enterprises believe that the production and business situation will be stable and 18.9% of enterprises believe that they will continue to face difficulties. Of which, the state-owned enterprise sector with 45% of enterprises predicts that the production and business situation in the fourth quarter of 2025 will be stable and better than in the third quarter of 2025; this rate in the FDI and non-state enterprises sectors is 34.6% and 30.9%.
