Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of My Thoi Ward Vuong Mai Trinh shared: "The implementation of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW is a major policy, with long-term strategic significance to arouse and maximize the potential of the private economic sector - one of the important driving forces to promote the country's economic growth. In particular, this is also a new step forward for My Thoi Ward in promoting local economic growth".
With the advantage of converging all three fields of industry, trade - services, agriculture , My Thoi ward identifies private economic development as a key task, endogenous resources to create breakthroughs in socio-economic development. The ward People's Committee focuses on synchronously implementing 4 groups of tasks and key solutions, including developing the Vam Cong industrial park to create clean land fund and attract investment. Currently, My Thoi is coordinating with functional departments and branches to carry out site clearance, support investment procedures, and create favorable conditions for businesses to survey and implement projects. Some investors in the field of processing agricultural products for export and manufacturing of supporting industrial equipment are completing investment documents. When put into operation, this industrial park will not only create jobs for thousands of workers but also create a regional value chain, exploiting the agricultural strengths of An Giang.
At the same time, the ward is promoting the development of the logistics system through the expansion and upgrading of My Thoi port. This is one of the key ports in the Mekong Delta, capable of receiving ships from 10,000 - 15,000 DWT. "We expect that in the near future, My Thoi will become the logistics center of the region, a "springboard" for private enterprises to reach out to regional and international markets," said Ms. Vuong Mai Trinh.
Not only has the advantage of geographical location, My Thoi also has a rich source of high-quality agricultural products, purchased from many localities inside and outside the province. The ward is coordinating with enterprises and cooperatives to build a standard raw material area, serving the processing and export industry.
Some private enterprises have invested in high-quality rice drying and processing factories to serve demanding markets such as Japan and the EU. Mr. Huynh Lan - Director of Binh Minh Food business, My Thoi ward shared: "We feel the positive and practical effects of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW in promoting private economic development. The enterprise has received dedicated support from the leaders of My Thoi ward People's Committee, especially in accessing e-commerce, guiding, training and putting products on the e-commerce platform Numbala.com. This is an important step to help us expand the market, increase product value and reduce dependence on traditional sales."
In order to concretize the spirit of accompanying businesses, My Thoi ward has determined the motto of action "Government accompanies - Business development", considering the success of businesses as a measure of the government's service capacity. Ms. Vuong Mai Trinh said that administrative reform, planning, simplification of investment, land and construction procedures are always the ward's top priority. The ward People's Committee has established a business support team to regularly grasp and remove obstacles in the process of project implementation. At the same time, organize regular meetings and dialogues to listen, share and provide more substantial support on legal matters, premises, procedures, etc.
With the determination of the entire political system and the dynamic and creative spirit of the business community and people, My Thoi is gradually realizing the goal of becoming a bright spot in private economic development of An Giang, contributing to the successful implementation of the local sustainable development goals.
The ward currently has about 1,150 individual business households and nearly 40 small and medium-sized enterprises in operation. Every year, the private economic sector contributes an average of about 25 - 27% of the total ward budget revenue. |
