On September 25, according to information from Hai Duong City Police, last night (September 24), a working group from the Traffic Police - Order Team coordinated with force 151, City Police set up a checkpoint to check alcohol concentration on Thanh Nien Street.

At around 8:50 p.m., the task force discovered Dinh Tien M. (born 2007, in Binh Han ward, Hai Duong city) driving a motorbike with license plate number 34B4-813.XX at high speed without wearing a helmet.

Seeing this, 3 soldiers in the working group standing at 3 different positions took turns signaling the motorbike to stop. However, M. did not comply and instead accelerated to run away, then crashed into Major Nguyen Hong Khu. As a result, Nguyen Hong Khu fell onto the road and was seriously injured; M. also suffered minor injuries.

At the hospital, Major Nguyen Hong Khu was diagnosed with a broken right leg, a broken left kneecap, and facial injuries. He is being treated at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.

Working with the police, Dinh Tien M. confessed that because he did not have a driver's license, did not wear a helmet, and was afraid of being handled by the authorities, he ran away. M. is a 12th grade student at a high school in Hai Duong city.
