Improving capacity for detection, treatment and management of tuberculosis and community-acquired lung disease

The highlight of the workshop in Hai Phong was sharing research results and updating progress in the detection, treatment and management of tuberculosis and lung diseases.

On the morning of August 16, Hai Phong Lung Hospital coordinated with Hai Phong Lung Association to organize the 13th scientific conference on tuberculosis and lung diseases in 2025 with the theme "Improving the capacity to detect, treat, and manage tuberculosis and community-acquired lung diseases".

Attending the conference were representatives of the Department of Health , Central Lung Hospital, National Tuberculosis Program Executive Board and related units.

Specialist Doctor 2 Vu Ngoc Truong, Director of Hai Phong Lung Hospital, delivered the opening speech at the workshop.

At the workshop, scientists, doctors from Hai Phong Lung Hospital, Hai Phong Lung Association and some leading experts in the country on tuberculosis and lung diseases participated in 5 discussion sessions, including plenary sessions and 4 thematic sessions: Tuberculosis and community-acquired lung diseases, tuberculosis, lung diseases and interventional endoscopy. Thereby, focusing on clarifying the current status of tuberculosis, lung diseases and current treatment methods.

The workshop attracted the participation of many experts, officials and medical staff.

The highlight of the conference program is the sharing of new research results, practical experiences and updates on advances in the detection, treatment and management of tuberculosis and lung diseases in the community by experts.

Specifically, such as: Results of detecting tuberculosis and latent tuberculosis through active screening in the community from 2022 to 2024 in Hai Phong city; outpatient treatment of community-acquired pneumonia from guidelines to treatment to real-life evidence; lung cancer diagnosis - a multimodal approach from imaging to molecular biology; results of flexible bronchoscopy and Rifampicin resistance of new pulmonary tuberculosis patients at Hai Phong Lung Hospital...

On that basis, it demonstrates the determination of the medical staff in responding to old and new challenges in treating and caring for people's respiratory health, towards the goal of ending tuberculosis by 2035.
