In the 2024-2025 school year, Lao Cai education has fully completed the targets and tasks of the school year and the goals of the entire 2020-2025 period. The quality of comprehensive education continues to be improved; attention is paid to education in ethnic minority areas, education in disadvantaged areas, border areas, inclusive education, and special education for the disabled; Lao Cai province (old) has completed the pilot implementation of criteria to meet universal preschool education standards for 4-year-old children.

The whole province has 75.7% of schools meeting national standards, of which 14.4% meet level 2 standards; the rate of solid classrooms reaches 86%, approaching the national average (89.6%).

Key education continues to achieve many encouraging results, the national excellent student competition increased by 25 prizes compared to the previous school year (the highest ever), with 2 First prizes (Math and History); 1 student won a Bronze medal in the Asia Pacific Informatics Olympiad, 1 student won the Third National Prize at the National Artificial Intelligence Competition; 6 National Science and Technology Research Awards.

Training quality continues to be improved; the rate of trained workers reaches over 70%, of which the rate with diplomas and certificates reaches 24.9%; the rate of workers with jobs after training accounts for 85%.

However, besides the achievements, the education sector still has some shortcomings, limitations and difficulties, such as: the capacity of a number of managers and teachers in applying information technology, artificial intelligence, psychological counseling and social work is still uneven, not meeting the requirements of program innovation and technological development; school facilities are still lacking and not synchronous, especially functional classrooms and modern technological equipment; the situation of students dropping out of secondary school, high school and continuing education still occurs...

In the 2025-2026 school year, the Education and Training sector of Lao Cai province will implement many solutions to continue improving the quality of education and training, meeting the requirements of innovation in the new period and new era, successfully completing the targets and tasks of the school year, contributing to the completion of the province's political tasks, affirming its position in the top provinces of the Northern Midlands and Mountains.

Reviewing the entire team of managers, teachers and staff in the whole sector, having a recruitment and use plan to ensure sufficient quantity, moving towards teaching 2 sessions/day in the whole province.
