In Tan Hiep and Chau Thanh districts, farmers sell limes to traders and warehouses for 14,000-15,000 VND/kg, while seedless limes cost 18,000-20,000 VND/kg.
The retail price of limes at many markets is from 20,000-25,000 VND/kg. Seedless limes that meet VietGAP standards at some supermarkets in Rach Gia City are priced at 42,500-43,000 VND/kg.
Lemon prices increased due to hot weather and increased demand for making soft drinks.
Workers harvest almonds in the garden of Mr. Tran Van Hien, residing in My Thai commune, Hon Dat district.
Currently, the price of almonds sold by farmers in Hon Dat and Go Quao districts to traders and purchasing warehouses is 10,500-12,000 VND/kg, while the retail price of almonds at some traditional markets and supermarkets is 20,000-32,000 VND/kg .
Mr. Tran Van Hien, residing in My Thai commune, Hon Dat district ( Kien Giang ) said: "Every day I harvest and sell to the purchasing company from 500kg to several tons of almonds. With the selling price of 10,500 VND/kg, minus the input costs, I still make a profit of 2,000-5,000 VND/kg depending on the time. On hot days when almonds are in high demand, the price increases to 12,000 VND/kg."
