This is the first time My Tho City People's Committee has organized the "My Tho Noodles" Festival with the theme "The Quintessence of Every Rice Strand". The festival will have many attractive activities, promising to be an interesting experience for diners. Participating in the festival, My Tho Women's Union will carry out the following activities: Organizing a noodle cooking booth, Tuyet Nhi noodle; a culinary booth of rice cakes; especially, the Union will organize an experience activity of making noodle noodles. This activity aims to recreate the stages of making noodle noodles such as: soaking rice, grinding flour, spreading rice, drying, cutting into noodles...

To create attraction, the City Women's Union will organize a noodle making contest with 14 participating teams, each team has 04 members who are cadres and women's union members in communes and wards. The teams will compete 03 times in 03 days (December 27, 29 and 30) and must perform all the steps to make noodle. Seeing the steps to make noodle, visitors will have an attractive and interesting experience. Summarizing the results of 03 days, the Organizing Committee will award prizes to the qualified teams to encourage and motivate women.
In the future, the Women's Union of My Tho City will research and organize competitions and cooking related to Hu Tieu to promote the My Tho Hu Tieu brand.

I don’t know when My Tho noodles were invented. I started making noodles in 1983. After researching and learning from friends, I opened a noodle production facility at home (Hoi Gia Hamlet, My Phong Commune, My Tho City). Through many ups and downs and difficulties, I still decided not to give up the job and until now my family still lives on making noodles.
In 2007, My Tho Vermicelli - Cake - Hu Tieu Craft Village and My Tho Vermicelli Production Cooperative were established. In the process of affirming the traditional craft village, in December 2008, the Intellectual Property Office ( Ministry of Science and Technology ) granted a Certificate of Exclusive Protection for the brand "My Tho Vermicelli". Tien Giang province also recognized My Tho Vermicelli - Cake - Hu Tieu Craft Village as one of the first 13 craft villages in the province that need to be invested in and developed comprehensively.

The My Tho Hu Tieu Production Cooperative currently has 06 production facilities, with an output of nearly 10 tons/day. My Tho Hu Tieu is made from Go Cat rice, which is small, chewy, crispy and clear. I myself am always very concerned about how to preserve this traditional profession, because without preservatives, the Hu Tieu noodles cannot be kept for long. To increase the economic value of Hu Tieu products, it is necessary to have support from all levels and sectors in terms of preservation, packaging, market introduction, etc. Because if not preserved properly, the quality and flavor of the Hu Tieu noodles will be reduced.
Being passionate about making Hu Tieu, I do not want this traditional profession to be lost, but always work with everyone to preserve the profession and contribute to promoting the brand "Hu Tieu My Tho" in the market.

When it comes to Hu Tieu, people can immediately think of many delicious restaurants with many dishes made from Hu Tieu noodles such as: sate Hu Tieu, seafood Hu Tieu, squid Hu Tieu... and people in My Tho City in particular, Tien Giang Province in general are no strangers to Hu Tieu Di Tu restaurant. Hu Tieu Di Tu in My Tho City is a famous restaurant with a long tradition, serving delicious and attractive Hu Tieu dishes. The restaurant is located right at the foot of Hung Vuong Bridge, has a spacious, airy space and reasonable prices. The staff is quick and attentive.

Cooking and selling noodles since 1975, with a noodle stall at the beginning of the alley, Mrs. Truong Thi Thoi (affectionately called Aunt Tu) has raised 5 children. Currently, although she is 77 years old, Aunt Tu is still the main chef of the restaurant. Aunt Tu is the one who directly seasoned the broth, as well as guided the selection of noodles and vegetables to ensure the freshest taste.
Aunt Tu shared: The secret to a delicious bowl of noodles is the noodles and the broth. The noodles must be My Tho noodles, the broth must be simmered from bones with vegetables to create a delicious flavor. In particular, the broth is cooked by Aunt with rock sugar and coconut water. Taking advantage of the large yard in front of the house to sell, without having to rent a space, so Aunt actively adjusts the price to suit all customers.
That is why Aunt Tu’s noodle shop is always crowded; in the morning alone, the shop sells hundreds of bowls of noodles. Aunt Tu’s shop opens in the morning until around 10am, after which the staff will clean the shop thoroughly; at 2pm, they will start stewing bones and preparing ingredients for the next day. Aunt Tu said that she has passed this profession on to her children and may open more branches, contributing to spreading the flavor of My Tho noodle shop far and wide…
When coming to the restaurant, diners will feel warm and close. Many diners feel comfortable and close when sitting and eating at the noodle shop. The atmosphere here is often bustling, but also friendly, creating a feeling like a family.

As a resident of My Tho Urban Area for 345 years and more than anyone else, a citizen living in the heroic hometown of My Phong commune, where the traditional craft village of My Tho vermicelli and rice noodles has been famous since ancient times and still exists today. I feel extremely excited when these days, wherever I go, I hear advertisements about My Tho vermicelli and especially the festival "My Tho vermicelli - The essence of each strand of rice" will officially open on the evening of December 27, celebrating the 345th anniversary of My Tho Urban Area.
If anyone has the opportunity to visit and experience the process of making rice noodles, they will see that it is very elaborate and that is every drop of sweat of the workers when they are kneading the rice, grinding the rice, rinsing and drying it to then cut the finished noodles to sell. Besides, I am also a diner who loves My Tho rice noodles very much. Every morning, just enjoying a bowl of rice noodles with chewy noodles, fragrant broth and sweet ribs... will make you feel refreshed and full of energy for an effective working day. A special feature of My Tho rice noodles is the diversity in the way they are prepared. Diners can choose from stir-fried rice noodles, rice noodles in soup, to different versions depending on personal preferences.
