At a press conference on June 9, the press officer of the Zapa Group (Russia) provided details about some recent losses of Kiev forces.
A howitzer was destroyed by a Lancet suicide drone near the town of Kupyansk. Attacks by 12mm BM-21 Grad systems also destroyed three Kozak armored vehicles as they rotated units of the 104th brigade of Kiev forces near the villages of Kislovka and Novaya Tarasovka.
In addition, Russian Tornado-S 300 mm rocket launchers targeted military equipment at the Balakleya railway station. An ammunition wagon and 15 trucks were destroyed in the missile attack.
TOS-1A 220 mm thermobaric rocket launchers also struck the Kiev forces' concentration area near Novoselovskoye. In addition, a Ukrainian drone was shot down by a Tor short-range air defense system.
Video posted online has provided more details about Ukraine’s recent losses. It shows two towed howitzers used by Kiev forces, a 122mm D-30 and a 155mm M777. A Lancet drone was used to take out the D-30, while the M777 was destroyed by artillery.
The Russian Defense Ministry also released a video showing Grad rocket launchers operating fiercely in the area of the special military operation.
Photos of several destroyed main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles of the Kiev Forces have been released.
On June 8, Ukrainian forces launched a major offensive on Zaporozhye as part of what Kiev called the spring counteroffensive. However, Ukraine failed to make any gains.
The zone of special military operations is likely to escalate in the coming days. Kiev forces are reportedly massing in several areas of Zaporozhye and preparing to launch attacks to penetrate Russian defenses.
