The police force of Quyet Thang ward, Son La city successfully prevented a money transfer into the account number of a scammer.

Because he believed the words and was afraid of affecting his family, Mr. Thai brought his savings book to Quyet Thang Ward Police Station to ask for help withdrawing and transferring money.

Realizing signs of fraud, the ward police promptly stopped, propagandized, explained and brought Mr. Thai home safely.

Previously, on April 25, at Agribank Mai Son District Branch, Ms. Vu Thi Lan, born in 1954, sub-zone 9, Hat Lot town, Mai Son district, Son La, hurriedly asked the bank staff to close the savings book and transfer 220 million VND to an account named Le Van Ngoc.

Thanks to experience, the bank staff promptly canceled the transfer order and contacted Hat Lot town police to coordinate verification.

At the police station, Ms. Lan said she was called by a person pretending to be a police officer, accusing her of being involved in a drug trafficking ring, asking her to transfer money to assist in the investigation and forbidding her from revealing it to her relatives.

Thanks to the vigilance and alertness of bank staff and the police force, the savings of the two citizens were preserved.

These incidents are a warning bell for people to be alert to scam calls, and should check through official channels or contact the police to verify information.
