Ho Chi Minh City Education Department supports flood victims with 17 billion VND

On September 15, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - Ho Chi Minh City Relief Mobilization Committee received 3 billion VND from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City to support people in provinces affected by storms and floods in 2025.

At the reception, comrade Truong Thi Bich Hanh, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, expressed her appreciation for the heart and spirit of sharing of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City; the collective of teachers, education managers, workers and students who actively supported compatriots affected by natural disasters. This is a gesture that contributes to alleviating losses and pain, helping people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

According to Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year, the department launched a movement to contribute in the form of not accepting congratulatory flower baskets and received positive response from delegates and parents.

From this movement, the city's education sector has mobilized more than 17 billion VND, of which more than 14 billion VND was sent by the department to support localities, and 3 billion VND was transferred to the city's relief fund to promptly share difficulties with other provinces.

Up to now, from contributions from agencies, units, businesses and individuals, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is urgently coordinating with provinces and cities affected by natural disasters and floods to organize the disbursement of funds.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City will directly support and visit families who suffered losses in life and property; promptly delivering resources to the right places is considered a top priority, in order to spread the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of the people of Ho Chi Minh City to people across the country.

* On the evening of September 14, Phu Truong Phat Company coordinated with Ben Thanh Tea Room to organize the music night "Sing for love" to raise funds to support difficult cases.

The program has the participation of singers such as Cam Van - Khac Trieu, along with business singers to join the beat of charity, send faith, and help those with many difficulties.

According to the organizers, the proceeds from ticket sales and support from individual businessmen of nearly 200 million VND will be sent to: the Social Work Center, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Union; the Vietnam Ao Dai Cultural Heritage Club - Ho Chi Minh City and the heart surgery fund for workers in difficult circumstances, those with serious illnesses and to support students in difficult circumstances.
