Vinh Long Education Sector strives to innovate and improve the quality of education and training

GD&TĐ - On August 15, the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Long province held a conference to summarize the 2024-2025 school year and deploy directions and tasks for the 2025-2026 school year.

Education quality changes positively

Last school year, despite many difficulties, the Education sector of Vinh Long province (including the three former provinces of Vinh Long, Ben Tre, and Tra Vinh ) made efforts to achieve many outstanding achievements.

The scale of schools in the area remains stable, with 1,316 educational institutions from preschool to general education and vocational education. The staff, teachers and employees are trained in depth and meet the prescribed standards.

The quality of education has changed positively, the percentage of students achieving good results is 43.52%, an increase compared to previous years. In the 2024-2025 school year, the province won 61 National Excellent Student Awards, contributing to the goal of "Innovation, creativity and development". The 2025 high school graduation exam recorded 3 students with scores in the top group.

Preschool education continues to develop with 416 schools, more than 4,300 classes, and the rate of children attending school is 99.86%. Inclusive education is effectively implemented with 101 disabled students studying in secondary school, with 100% achievement. Electronic transcripts have been applied in 100% of primary and secondary schools; schools in remote areas are supported with equipment, narrowing the learning gap.

In addition to the achievements, the Education sector of Vinh Long province still has some limitations and difficulties. Among them, there is a lack of teachers in all subjects, especially English. Some educational units need to get acquainted with and apply teaching methods according to the new program. At the same time, diversify the forms of organizing teaching and testing and evaluating some subjects at the secondary level.

Efforts to carry out the tasks of the new school year

Entering the 2025-2026 school year, the Education sector of Vinh Long province determined to continue implementing directions and effectiveness at all levels of education, ensuring progress, quality and suitability to actual conditions in each locality.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, proposed to promote the popularization of English education with determination to implement it in all comprehensive educational institutions. At the same time, improve the quality of teaching in terms of professional teachers' qualifications.

Maximize the effectiveness of facilities and teaching equipment to support and create conditions for students to achieve the requirements as prescribed by the Program.

Implement universal preschool education for children from 3 to 5 years old, continue to implement and develop the preschool education program, innovate methods, and improve the quality of child care and education.

Promote and improve the quality of STEM/STEAM education, digital capacity development education, and education using AI technology.
