In September 2008, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1271/QD-TTg, designating October 2nd of each year as “Vietnam Education Promotion Day”, with the aim of encouraging all classes of people and social organizations to participate in the work of promoting education and talents, building a learning society; at the same time, honoring exemplary students, outstanding collectives and individuals in the work of promoting education and talents.
With the theme: "Learning to develop yourself, mastering knowledge and technology, contributing to building a strong and prosperous country", the message of this year's Vietnam Education Promotion Day aims to remind every citizen, especially the young generation, about the importance of learning, accessing new knowledge and technology to contribute to building the country's future.
In Ha Tinh - a land with a rich tradition of learning, the work of encouraging learning and talent over the years has become a widespread movement, spreading from families to communities, from schools to businesses.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong - Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Association for Promotion of Education said: “The movement to promote education and talents in Ha Tinh has recently developed strongly in both breadth and depth. The whole province currently has more than 6,000 education promotion boards with more than 374,000 members. Models such as learning clans, commune-level learning communities, learning units... are increasingly consolidated and improved in quality. Many funds to promote education and talents from the province to localities and clans have been effective, helping thousands of poor and excellent students overcome difficulties to pursue their aspirations for knowledge.”
This year’s theme links learning with digital transformation – an urgent requirement in the new context. Up to now, in Ha Tinh, 100% of schools have applied IT in teaching, contributing to improving the quality of lessons and creating excitement for students.
Mr. Tran Doan Tu - Principal of Ky Lac Primary and Secondary School (Ky Lac Commune) said: "The school has been applying IT - CDS in teaching for many years now. In addition to using electronic lesson plans, teachers also apply IT in teaching lessons by collecting and integrating pictures and animations to increase the liveliness and attractiveness of the lessons. Thereby, students are more interested in the lessons, the quality of education is increasingly changing clearly".
Not only in schools, the spirit of lifelong learning and adapting to digital transformation is also spreading strongly in the community. Community learning centers, youth union forces, and local women actively participate in training and guiding people in practicing digital skills, contributing to spreading the lifelong learning movement widely, strongly, and effectively...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet (Mai Phu commune) shared: “Since participating in digital transformation training courses, I have been able to skillfully perform many operations such as transferring money, paying bills, and looking up information right on my phone. Equipped with technological knowledge, we are more convenient in daily transactions and proactively access new sources of knowledge.”
The positive changes from the grassroots are vivid evidence of the spirit of lifelong learning spreading widely in the community. Vietnam Education Promotion Day is not only an occasion to honor the nation's tradition of learning, but also a call for each citizen to proactively learn and renew themselves in the digital age.
For Ha Tinh - a land rich in tradition of studiousness and respect for talents, promoting the movement to encourage learning and talents associated with digital transformation, improving people's knowledge, and training high-quality human resources is the foundation that contributes to bringing the province firmly into a new period of development.
