According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2024, nearly 615,000 successful candidates were admitted to universities across the country.

Of these, 25% of candidates chose Business and Management, followed by Computer and Information Technology (12%), Engineering Technology (9%), Humanities (9%) and Health (6%).

The remainder are enrolled in fields such as: Social and behavioral sciences, Educational sciences and teacher training, Engineering, Law, Architecture and construction, Tourism, hotels, sports and personal services.

In 2024, 52.18% of candidates will be admitted based on their high school graduation exam scores, and nearly 27.86% of candidates will be admitted based on their academic records. The remaining candidates will be admitted based on their competency and thinking assessment scores: 3.36%; admission will be a combination of direct admission according to the Project and other methods; other methods (including 12 methods): 1.121%.

In recent years, most universities have set admission scores for Business Administration ranging from 20 to 27, even up to 28 points.

Business Administration is a popular major, taught at many economic schools such as Foreign Trade University, National Economics University, Banking Academy, University of Commerce, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics or Industry.

On the other hand, recently some technical schools such as the University of Water Resources, the University of Transport, the Hanoi University of Industry,... have also opened training in this field.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, in the past three years (2020-2023), the Business and Management group has always accounted for about 25% of the total number of university candidates. Of which, Business Administration alone accounts for 10%.

Because there are many training schools, the benchmark for this industry is also widespread. For example, Foreign Trade and National Economics take the benchmark based on the 2023 high school graduation exam scores, all above 27.5/30 points. Many schools such as the University of Labor and Social Affairs, Women's Academy or Thai Nguyen University, Da Nang University, Hue University, the score is around 18-25.

One of the new points in the 2025 admission season compared to before is the elimination of early admission. These are admission rounds before the high school graduation exam, commonly considering academic records, test scores to assess ability, thinking, international certificates (SAT, ACT, IELTS...) combined with other criteria.

This year, universities can still use these methods, but must consider them together with graduation exam scores, and convert scores between methods and combinations to a common scale.

Regarding the admission combination, the Ministry does not limit the number, but requires it to include at least three subjects, suitable to the characteristics and requirements of the training program. Of which, Math or Literature is compulsory, with a weighted score of no less than 25%. In fact, in previous years, most schools ensured this.

Up to now, more than 100 universities have announced expected enrollment information, basically recruiting by many methods but have not announced time and quota.

Accordingly, some schools have issued official proposals with some changes to comply with the draft admission regulations that the Ministry released at the end of last year.
