Tien Giang Health Sector: Overcoming difficulties, taking good care of people's health

(ABO) According to the report of the Department of Health of Tien Giang province at the conference to review the activities of the health sector in the first 6 months of the year and deploy directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2023, in the first months of the year, the health sector has coordinated with departments, branches, sectors, and organizations at all levels to advise, focus on directing, organizing the implementation of directives, resolutions, and documents related to the health sector in the whole province; advise on the issuance of decisions, plans, programs, and documents related to the health sector.

The conference discussed difficulties and problems of affiliated units related to regulations on digital transformation, standards and formats of output data, medical examination and treatment using Citizen Identification Cards; difficulties in bidding and drug procurement; medical facilities and equipment; additional funding for Covid-19 prevention and control; settlement of health insurance medical examination and treatment costs that have not been settled due to exceeding the estimate, causing financial difficulties for the unit; funding for dengue fever prevention and control, etc.

Thereby, the Department of Health has directed medical facilities in the whole province to ensure epidemic prevention and control, emergency care, and adequate supply of quality medicines, materials, and chemicals to serve the work of epidemic prevention and control, medical examination and treatment; and natural disaster prevention and control. Directing, inspecting, and supervising units to implement activities, targets, and plans of the Health - Population Target Program on time and schedule, maintaining target results. Focusing on directing the management of finance, assets, and equipment, organizing the liquidation and transfer of equipment between units in the industry.

Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Van Duong awarded the title of "Emulation Fighter" at the provincial level recognized by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Giang province to individuals.

Currently, the work of disease prevention and control is maintained regularly and effectively, controlling the Covid-19 epidemic. From the beginning of 2023 to June 22, the whole Tien Giang province recorded 2,081 cases of Covid-19 infection, down 97.5% compared to the same period in 2022; all cases were detected through positive rapid antigen test, no deaths have been recorded. The whole province has basically completed the Covid-19 vaccination targets according to the instructions and regulations of the Ministry of Health , ensuring the minimum rate of injections on groups of subjects with vaccination indications exceeds 80% or more.

The work of preventing and combating dengue fever has been well implemented. Currently, the province has not recorded any deaths due to dengue fever. At the conference, delegates focused on discussing, analyzing and evaluating the results achieved in various fields of the health sector in the first 6 months of 2023; shortcomings, limitations, lessons learned, and proposing key tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2023.

Speaking at the conference, Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Van Duong requested that in the last months of 2023, units continue to monitor, prevent and control epidemics, especially Covid-19, dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease. Directing to promote bidding activities for the purchase of drugs, equipment and medical supplies; improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, effectively implementing medical cooperation programs with upper-level hospitals; improving population quality; continuing to promote digital transformation in the health sector...

During the period from 2018 to 2022, the collective and civil servants, public employees, and workers of the departments and units under the Department of Health have determined to strive to fulfill and exceed the assigned targets, plans, and tasks, contributing to helping the health sector excel in caring for, protecting, and improving people's health in the province.

On this occasion, the Department of Health organized the awarding ceremony of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tien Giang province recognizing the title "Emulation Fighter" at the provincial level to 35 individuals; the title "Excellent Labor Collective" to 105 collectives; Certificates of Merit for collectives that have excellently completed their tasks for 2 years to 35 collectives and Certificates of Merit for excellently completing their tasks for 2 years to 120 individuals.
