August 7: Localized thunderstorms in the North, widespread heat in the Central region

On August 7, the North will have scattered thunderstorms, some places will have heavy rain; the Central and South will be hot and sunny, some places will have temperatures above 37 degrees Celsius; in the evening, there may be showers with tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the day and night of August 7, the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain; meanwhile, the Central region will continue to be hot, with some places experiencing severe heat with the highest temperature above 37 degrees Celsius.

Warning of the risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds during thunderstorms in many areas across the country.

Weather in specific areas is as follows:

Hanoi capital

- Cloudy, sunny during the day; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. Light wind. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

- Lowest temperature from 24-26 degrees Celsius, highest from 32-34 degrees Celsius.

Northwest

- Cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night, locally heavy rain. Light wind. Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

- Lowest temperature from 23-26 degrees Celsius, some places below 23 degrees Celsius; highest from 30-33 degrees Celsius, some places above 33 degrees Celsius.

Northeast

- Cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms, sunny during the day; in mountainous and midland areas, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night, locally heavy rain. Light wind. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

- Lowest temperature from 24-27 degrees Celsius, highest from 31-34 degrees Celsius, some places above 34 degrees Celsius.

From Thanh Hoa to Hue

- Cloudy, hot during the day, some places will be very hot; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. Southwest wind level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

- Lowest temperature from 26-29 degrees Celsius; highest from 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius.

South Central Coast

- Cloudy, hot during the day, some places will be very hot; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. Southwest wind level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

- Lowest temperature from 26-29 degrees Celsius; highest temperature in the North from 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 37 degrees Celsius; South from 32-35 degrees Celsius, some places above 35 degrees Celsius.

Central Highlands

- Cloudy, sunny during the day; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening; scattered showers and thunderstorms at night. Southwest wind level 2-3. Thunderstorms are likely to cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

- Lowest temperature from 21-24 degrees Celsius, highest from 29-32 degrees Celsius, some places above 32 degrees Celsius.

Southern Vietnam

- Cloudy, sunny during the day; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. Southwest wind level 2-3. Thunderstorms are likely to cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

- Lowest temperature from 25-28 degrees Celsius, highest from 32-35 degrees Celsius, some places above 35 degrees Celsius.

Ho Chi Minh City

- Cloudy, sunny during the day; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. Southwest wind level 2-3. Thunderstorms are likely to cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

- Lowest temperature from 25-27 degrees Celsius, highest from 32-34 degrees Celsius.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that in the evening and night of August 7, in the mountainous areas, the Northern midlands and the Central Highlands, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 60mm.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
