That means the minimum standard score to enter this school for Geography and History Education is 25. Other education majors are from 24-24.5.
Meanwhile, many other pedagogical schools accept applications from 20-22, higher than the floor score set by the Ministry of Education and Training of 19, and the benchmark score will certainly be 2-3 points higher than the floor score.
A Southern admissions expert predicts that majors such as Mathematics Education, Physics Education, Chemistry Education at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Saigon University, Quy Nhon University, Hue University of Education, Hanoi University of Education, Hanoi University of Education 2, will be equal to or higher than last year by a maximum of 0.5 points.

The majors of Literature Pedagogy, History Pedagogy, and Geography Pedagogy have increased by about 1 - 1.5 points compared to last year and may reach the ceiling. The majors of Primary Education and Preschool Pedagogy may also increase significantly due to the outstanding support policies for preschool and primary school teachers.
According to this expert, the reason for the increase in the standard score for pedagogy, especially the pedagogy majors recruiting for group C00, is because the training capacity for primary and preschool education has not increased significantly. Meanwhile, this year, group C00 has a large number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam, especially the number of candidates taking the History exam. On the other hand, students in 2025 tend to study and review History seriously and no longer take it lightly as before. Many candidates did well on the exam, leading to group C00 benefiting from this trend.
As for Literature, the reading comprehension and social discussion sections are considered open, approachable, and easy to write. The literature discussion questions are not tricky, and differentiate, but still create conditions for average students to score. Geography is still easy to score as usual, so the majors of Literature, History, and Geography Pedagogy will certainly increase.
Mr. Phung Quan, admissions consultant at Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences, said that the Pedagogy industry will continue to be the focus of university admissions in 2025. From the high school exam score spectrum and new policy factors, the benchmark score, Mr. Quan predicts that the pedagogy benchmark score will increase slightly, but there will be clear differentiation by industry and by school.
The score distribution of admission combinations for Pedagogy majors such as A00, A01, D01... in 2025 and the complete elimination of early admission will make candidates only be able to register their wishes once after knowing their exam scores. This will increase the density of wishes for top majors and schools, making the benchmark even more unpredictable. The predicted change in benchmark scores is around 0.25 to 0.75 points, depending on the major and enrollment quota.
With a total score of 25 or higher, candidates can hope to be admitted to the pedagogical major at major universities. Candidates with a score of 21-24 have a chance to be admitted to local pedagogical colleges, less competitive majors or those with a combination of high scores.
However, Mr. Quan said that this year, the benchmark score for Pedagogy is likely to continue to increase slightly, but unevenly. The differentiation between social sciences and natural sciences, central and local schools will be clearly seen.
A representative of a large pedagogical university revealed that, based on initial data, the admission scores for pedagogical majors this year may increase slightly compared to last year. It is known that last year, the admission scores for pedagogical majors at this university were up to 28.6, belonging to the History Pedagogy and Literature Pedagogy majors. The lowest admission score for pedagogical majors was 23.69, while many majors were at 26-27 points.
Teaching profession continues to be attractive due to many incentives
In the past 4 years, Pedagogy has been especially hot. For many consecutive years, the admission scores for many Pedagogy majors have been higher than those for Medicine and Pharmacy, even surpassing the famous General Medicine major at famous universities.
The reason why the teaching profession is receiving more attention than ever and the pedagogical benchmark is high, in an interview with VietNamNet, Dr. Huynh Trung Phong, Director of the Center for Student Support and Startup Development - Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, explained that the pedagogical benchmark is "at the ceiling", even higher than medicine and pharmacy because of many influencing factors.
The first reason is that the quota for the pedagogical sector is not large. There are pedagogical sectors in schools that only recruit 20-30 students. On the other hand, the Ministry of Education and Training currently assigns pedagogical quotas to schools according to social needs, meaning that society will assign as many as it needs, not freely and self-determined.
The second is the impact of policies. In recent years, the Government has had many support policies for pedagogical students. Specifically, the policy of exempting tuition fees and providing living expenses has encouraged excellent students but with difficult family circumstances, and students who dream of working in the education sector to boldly apply for pedagogical exams. On the other hand, the job position after graduation has been of interest, attracting many candidates.
Third, the legal corridor, specifically the Law on Teachers, was born, the position of teachers was raised, teachers' salaries were also ranked the highest, attracting many candidates to register for the exam.
