According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (23 years old, temporarily residing locally), at around 10 o'clock that same day, he was startled when he heard a bomb-like explosion that shook the whole room. At this time, Mr. Nam quickly checked everywhere in the house to see where the explosion came from. When he heard the noise outside, he immediately opened the door and discovered that the restaurant on the same street had exploded.

"I was scared when I saw the devastation, many things were broken. Many pieces of broken objects were scattered across the street," said Mr. Nam.

Another witness was horrified and said that the explosion caused the five-story house and its glass doors to "shake violently". "After the explosion sounded like a bomb, I ran closer and saw a person lying unconscious on the street. A few others ran out of the house injured. The force of the explosion caused many pieces of glass to shatter, piercing holes in the car parked on the dike," the witness said.

According to a leader of the People's Committee of Ba Dinh District, the explosion occurred due to a gas leak that met a spark when people opened the iron door. As a result, 4 people were injured and had to be taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Immediately after the incident, two rescue vehicles of Ba Dinh District Police and other authorities cordoned off the scene and actively investigated the incident. At the scene, many pieces of glass, concrete, and objects were thrown hundreds of meters away by the force of the explosion, lying scattered on the street.

As Thanh Nien reported, on the morning of August 15, many people traveling on Yen Phu Street were startled by a loud explosion coming from house number 42 Yen Phu.

The force of the explosion caused the entire facade of this house to be deformed, with broken tree branches lying across the road. Many motorbikes were overturned on the road and on the sidewalk of Yen Phu Street. The explosion also injured many people passing through this area.
