Pearl farming in Phu Quoc

HeritageHeritage06/11/2023

Besides the famous beaches, Phu Quoc also makes people love it more because of the closeness and simplicity of the peaceful streams, green pepper gardens, bustling fishing villages, bustling night markets and fresh seafood, always full.

However, it would be remiss not to mention the pearls here. Nature has endowed Phu Quoc Island with calm seas and an ideal salinity for pearl farming.

Thanks to the application of advanced farming techniques from countries such as Australia, Japan... combined with suitable natural conditions, pearl farming in Phu Quoc has really developed and grown in the past 20 years. Phu Quoc pearls are ranked among the most beautiful pearls in the world .

Pearls here come in many colors, with beautiful, perfect shine, brightness and roundness; especially black and navy blue pearls.

From there, skilled craftsmen create luxurious jewelry products such as pearl necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, etc.

Pearl farming rafts in Phu Quoc are currently mainly concentrated along the coast, about 2-3 nautical miles from the island's shore. These are fishing villages such as Ham Ninh, Rach Vem, Cua Can, Duong Dong, Rach Vam... where the population is densely concentrated, the sea surface is favorable, suitable for fishermen to easily go in and out by boat.
