Pearl farming in Phu Quoc

HeritageHeritage06/11/2023

Besides its famous beaches, Phu Quoc is also loved for the intimate, rustic charm of its peaceful streams, lush green pepper gardens, bustling fishing villages, vibrant night markets, and abundant supply of fresh seafood.

However, it would be remiss not to mention the pearls here. Nature has bestowed upon Phu Quoc Island calm seas with ideal salinity for pearl farming.

Thanks to the application of advanced cultivation techniques from countries such as Australia and Japan, combined with suitable natural conditions, pearl farming in Phu Quoc has truly developed and flourished in the last 20 years. Phu Quoc pearls are ranked among the most beautiful pearls in the world .

The pearls here come in many colors, with perfect luster, shine, and roundness, making them beautiful; especially the black and blue pearls.

From there, skilled artisans create luxurious jewelry products such as pearl necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, etc.

Currently, pearl oyster farms in Phu Quoc are mainly concentrated along the coast, about 2-3 nautical miles from the island's mainland. These are fishing villages such as Ham Ninh, Rach Vem, Cua Can, Duong Dong, Rach Vam... where the population is dense and the sea surface is favorable, suitable for fishermen to easily navigate in their boats.
