Hung King's death anniversary ceremony in Hanoi brings together stars

On the afternoon of October 2, Dai Nam Theater welcomed many artists, producers and theater units to attend the 9th Theater Ancestor's Death Anniversary, organized by People's Artist Le Chuc, People's Artist Thu Huyen, Director Viet Tu, Director Hoang Cong Cuong and Director Nguyen Viet Thanh.

Among the artists attending were singers Quang Ha, Bang Kieu, Minh Quan, Thai Thuy Linh, Erik, Hoa Minzy, MC - actor Thai Dung, MC Trang Mu Tat and many other faces.

People's Artist Thu Huyen, Director of Hanoi Cheo Theatre, shared about choosing Dai Nam Theatre as the venue: "This is an ancient theatre, deeply attached to Hanoi Cheo Theatre. Here, Hanoi Cheo Theatre also worships its ancestors, so we bring the death anniversary ceremony here. From now on, Hanoi artists in particular and Vietnamese artists in general should consider this as their family, their home."

The ceremony to commemorate the founder of the theater profession includes a ceremony to worship the founder of the profession presided over by artisan Hong Tinh, an incense offering ceremony presided over by People's Artist Le Chuc, followed by receiving blessings and an art program.

In Ho Chi Minh City, major stages also held a memorial service for the ancestors from October 2. Truong Hung Minh stage gathered artists such as Viet Huong, Phi Phung, Quyen Linh, Chau Thanh.

Artist Viet Huong expressed: "Today is the anniversary of the ancestors' death to pay tribute to the person who kept the profession, standing next to teacher Minh Nhi is the greatest gratitude and the happiest thing. Thank you to the audience for always loving me. Thank you to the teachers who came to celebrate the ancestors' death with me on stage."

Idecaf Drama Theater also held an early ceremony to worship the theater's ancestors with the participation of Dai Nghia, artist Hoa Hiep, Meritorious Artist My Duyen, and artist Phi Nga. Dinh Toan shared that he was happy to have the opportunity to gather with his colleagues on this special day.

People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi at the Traditional House of Ho Chi Minh City Theater shared: "We pray for the ancestors to bless the audience to always love and consider the theater as a sanctuary. Artists love and unite to contribute valuable works to art and the public."

Many artists such as Quach Tuan Du, Tuyen Map, Hoang Map, Nam Thu came to pay their respects at the ancestral temple of Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh. Actor Tran Bao Son, People's Artist Kim Xuan, Meritorious Artist Huu Chau offered incense at Thien Dang Drama Stage.

Paying tribute to veteran artists at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House

On the afternoon of October 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House organized a program to celebrate Vietnam Theater Day and the 2025 Theater Industry's death anniversary. The program honored and presented gifts to veteran artists such as People's Artist Kim Cuong, People's Artist Minh Vuong, Meritorious Artist Hong Van, and Meritorious Artist Phi Dieu.

In a solemn atmosphere, the program honored the national artistic heritage and recognized the lifelong contributions of artists to the country's stage.

Meritorious Artist Hong Van told VietNamNet : "I was very surprised to be honored by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House at the ceremony to commemorate the ancestors of the Theater industry. I did not think I would be honored because there are many more talented people. I am very grateful to the ancestors for giving me the opportunity to do art and, most of all, to live in the love of the audience. At the age of over 90, I still want to do art and will try to devote myself."

Meritorious Artist Minh Vuong could not hide his emotions when sharing with VietNamNet about his 75-year journey with traditional arts: "I am very touched to receive the government's attention and to participate in this program. I am very happy. I work in this profession, and there is nothing happier than being able to do this. It was not easy, it was very difficult. I endured and overcame obstacles to get to where I am today."

At the age of 75, although his health is not as good as before, artist Minh Vuong is still proud that his singing voice is still intact: "My health is good, but now I will let it be as good as it is, who knows. This year I turn 75, it is an honor that my ancestors have given me health and can still sing well. I hope my ancestors and Buddha will bless me to sing forever."

The Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House also organized a calligraphy exhibition with works on many materials such as silk, wood and canvas, expressing love for the homeland, country and gratitude to ancestors. The audience also enjoyed the music program I love my Fatherland with the participation of young, passionate artists, proud to be part of the country's historical journey.

The 12th day of the 8th lunar month every year is called Vietnam Stage Day, an occasion for the artist community to pay tribute to their ancestors, meet, connect and spread good, humane messages.
