(NLDO) - The play “The Old Man and the Sea” will premiere at 7:00 p.m. on November 23, at The Global City stage (Gallery Hall), Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.
"The Old Man and the Sea" was directed by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Cong Ninh with the participation of two actors: Huynh Kien An and Anh Khoa.
Originally a film actor, Huynh Kien An first stepped into the field of drama and he put all his effort into his role in the play that for the first time combined XR virtual reality performance technology.

The work "The Old Man and the Sea" is a novel by American writer E. Hemingway (1899-1961) published in 1952. This is one of Hemingway's famous works and he received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1954 for this work.
"When staged in the XR version, the play brings many new experiences to the audience, creating a breakthrough in expanding the stage space with multimedia LED screen technology, combined with a lighting system that controls reactions and sensors that interact between actors and space, the scene is expanded and vivid" - Meritorious Artist Nguyen Cong Ninh said.
The Korean side wants to test a new style of drama - XR virtual reality - in Vietnam and has cooperated with comedian and director Quoc Thuan to implement the project at Hong Van Drama Stage.
As a film actor, Huynh Kien An (left) first stepped into the field of drama.
"Artist Huynh Kien An is very suitable for the role of the old man. Even though he is a film artist and over 60 years old, he still transformed excellently, performing a solo performance for an hour in a story that evokes many valuable humanistic lessons," said director Quoc Thuan.
