People's Artist Mai Hoa makes her own unique mark with the vinyl album "Low Note" Vol 1

After nearly 2 years of recording preparation and technical processing, on the evening of December 26, at the Hanoi Opera House Music Garden, People's Artist Mai Hoa officially introduced to the public the vinyl record (LP) "Bad Note" Vol 1 in an impressive art meeting and exchange program.

The vinyl record “Delta” Vol1 includes the songs: “Separation” (composed by Dzoan Man), “Old Afternoon Shadow” (Duong Thieu Tuoc), “Loneliness” (Nguyen Anh 9), “I Visit You on a Rainy Afternoon” (To Vu), “Nameless Version No. 1” (Vu Thanh An), “Return Day” (Hoang Giac), “My Village” (Van Cao), “Harvest Day” (Van Cao).

In her career, People's Artist Mai Hoa has had nearly 10 CD albums and up to now, she also has an official Youtube channel that is growing positively, as well as albums on digital platforms such as I'Tunes and Spotify and a digital radio channel on the popular Podcast platform. She hopes that her singing will not only serve the public on radio and television, but also be popularized in audio products that serve the diverse needs of different audiences.

According to People's Artist Mai Hoa, along with the trend of popularizing music products in the digital age, the public has been increasingly diversifying in the way of enjoying music in a personal and individualized way. Thereby reviving the symbols of the 20th century recording industry and breathing new life into them. That is the reason for the return of vinyl records to the music market and Mai Hoa's investment in her new music products.

The LP project "Low Note" Vol 1 was cherished by Mai Hoa nearly 3 years ago with the desire to have a really good product for those who love meticulous music and worked hard with her colleagues to prepare this LP to the best of her ability. As for the recording, the artist started working from mid-2023 and performed in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The reason for this is because, as she said, it is not always possible to gather all the musicians and instrumentalists of the orchestra as planned. During the process of making the LP, there were times when Mai Hoa had to re-record many times, so the implementation took quite a lot of time.

To mix and master the LP, Sound Master Duy Nghia - in charge of Hanoi Studio had to work for 6 months and it was this meticulousness of the producer that made the mastering process longer than usual. The special thing about the album studio processing is that the recordings are left as natural and raw as possible with almost no effects. When enjoying this LP, depending on the type of turntable and equipment configuration, each person will have their own feeling about Mai Hoa's warm voice.

The LP “Bad Note” Vol 1 was produced by a factory in the US with a waiting time of more than half a year, but in return, it has the highest weight and quality of the current vinyl record with the 200g version, instead of the usual 180g or lower version. Explaining this, People’s Artist Mai Hoa humorously said: “I want to have a difference and a unique mark. It also has to reach the same thickness as the voice expressed in it and must be red because Mai Hoa thinks that a limited edition is not only about choosing the works that I like, but also about the special color”.

Even naming the vinyl album “Nốt Bass” was a deliberate choice because Mai Hoa is recognized by experts and the public as having a rare, deep, husky voice, full of lyrical narrative. The album is like an affirmation, marking a unique style in the music industry, a deep tone of Mai Hoa’s own, so her vinyl series started with this LP is called “Nốt Bass” and will continue to be released for the following issues in the near future.

After its release, the vinyl album "Bad Note" Vol 1 will be released on popular digital platforms with the highest lossless quality.
