Mason used a lighter and a spray can to make a homemade blowtorch, but an accident happened while he was trying to do it.
Mason is in hospital after suffering burns from a TikTok challenge.
Mason nearly lost his life when the spray paint can he was holding exploded. As the flames engulfed his body, he jumped into a river near his home. However, the water in the river caused Mason's burns to become infected.
The male student was taken to the emergency room and suffered third degree burns, covering 75% of his body.
With this level of damage, Mason will have to undergo multiple skin grafts and it will take about 6 months to recover.

Recently, 13-year-old Jacob Stevens in Ohio, USA died after trying the "Benadryl Challenge" on TikTok. Jacob Stevens took 12-14 over-the-counter antihistamines to induce hallucinations. The amount of pills Jacob took was 6 times higher than the standard dose for his age.
