On July 29th, singer Van Mai Huong officially released the music video for "Uot Long " (Tearful Heart), the opening project for her fifth studio album, which she has been working on to release this year. The song was written by songwriter and music producer Hua Kim Tuyen and produced by DuongK and Harosé, based on Van Mai Huong's personal reflections on love.
Prior to its official release, the song achieved Top 1 on iTunes Vietnam (pre-order).
This latest musical product from hit-making duo Van Mai Huong and Hua Kim Tuyen features many fresh elements. Hua Kim Tuyen said that the project team jokingly calls "Uot Long" (Tearful Heart ) a Bole-Pop song, mixing a bit of Bolero with Pop, but it's actually a Rumba rhythm from Latin music combined with Bossa nova. The song also evokes the retro, nostalgic feel of Vietnamese music from the 60s and 70s.
"This song breaks the structure of typical modern pop music, where most songs are around 2-3 minutes long for easy social media uploads, but 'Wet Heart' is 4 minutes and 39 seconds long. This unconventional approach was taken because we wanted to preserve the song's emotions rather than focusing on trends," said Hua Kim Tuyen.
"Ướt lòng" was arranged by DươngK and mastered by Randy Merrill – a Grammy-winning sound engineer who has worked on albums for global superstars such as Taylor Swift, Lady GaGa, Adele, and Ariana Grande…
In terms of visuals, the music video was directed by Nguyen Hai Nguyen and the The Tripod Guys team, and features the talented Thien Minh. The MV evokes memories of a beautiful woman, touching upon familiar moments and melodies of love. The music blends with nostalgic footage, stirring a wide range of emotions.
This is the first time Van Mai Huong has collaborated with Thien Minh on a music video. She shared that the two have had a close relationship for 16 years and have witnessed many ups and downs in their careers, lives, and relationships, so they work together very well. She hopes that the authentic elements of the song, the East Asian-inspired imagery, and the music video, which evokes both happiness and separation without being overly sentimental, will remind many people of past loves they have experienced.

At the product launch event in Ho Chi Minh City, Van Mai Huong and Hua Kim Tuyen welcomed a large number of artists, including Tran Thanh, Dieu Nhi, Mono, Vuong Binh, and others.

After releasing the music video, Van Mai Huong is rushing to complete her 5th studio album to release in the near future.
Van Mai Huong made her mark with the release of albums such as: "Hãy mỉm cười" (Smile ) (2011), "Mười tám +" (Eighteen +) (2013), "Hương" (2021 ), and "Minh tinh" (Star) (2023).
