On the afternoon of December 10th, Van Mai Huong held a showcase for her album "Giai Nhan" in Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of musician Hua Kim Tuyen, Chi Pu, a group of young music producers from S-HUBE Label, and many other artists who came to support her.

This album is seen as a reflection of the woman within Van Mai Huong, a moment when she truly embraces things she once kept hidden, and longs to love and be loved.

Reflections on love

Over the past period, Van Mai Huong has consistently released an album every two years with serious investment. With the album "Giai Nhan" (Beautiful Woman ), she continues to collaborate with musician and music producer Hua Kim Tuyen.

The album marks a turning point for the superstar singer as she explores the feminine side that best suits her today: a charming, independent, and confident woman who is also ready to confront her vulnerabilities and imperfections, both in life and in relationships.

"The ' Beauty' journey is a very personal one, where Huong allows herself to be true to things she used to keep hidden. Still in the familiar partnership with Hua Kim Tuyen, this time we're telling Huong's own stories together: the twists and turns, the losses, the times she learned to love, to let go, and the emotions that deserve to be preserved," the singer shared.

The album consists of 9 songs: "Precious," "Rose Garden," "Love Song," "Delicious Flavor," "Tearful Heart," "Gray Region," "Gift," "Wind Sound," and "Closing the Curtain," composed by Hua Kim Tuyen along with young musicians J4RDIN, Hurrykng, Trid Minh, Dlight, Harosé, and Melly. The inspiration comes from Van Mai Huong's own reflections on past romantic relationships.

The album maintains a distinctly East Asian musical style but infuses it with a modern feel by exploring and combining diverse genres such as pop, city pop, afrobeat, bolero, bossa nova... and even pentatonic music. The production team, including Hứa Kim Tuyền, DươngK, 2Pillz, NTB, and Katzilla, collaborated on the unique arrangements.

Van Mai Huong sings traditional Vietnamese folk songs, bolero, and many other genres.

In the song "Precious Treasure ," Van Mai Huong sings a traditional Vietnamese folk song (ca trù) in the climax, evoking traditional elements but modernizing them through a soft and gentle performance. "Rose Garden ," a collaboration with Chi Pu and senior singer Ha Tran, portrays a woman who actively embraces romantic feelings while skillfully maintaining the rhythm of love.

Love songs evoke intense emotions and distant desires, combined with Hurrykng. The story tells of a love that is most natural and instinctive, seamlessly transitioning into the next chapter.

"Wet Heart " - a nostalgic melody from the 1960s and 1970s, blended with pop and bolero - portrays the image of a decisive woman ending a relationship. "Gray Zone" marks the reunion of Van Mai Huong and Grey D after the success of "June Rain". Or the final song , "Closing the Curtain," has a deeply lyrical quality, evoking a longing to love and be loved.

Over the past 14 years, Van Mai Huong has released five albums, each showcasing a distinct musical style. In 2011, she released her debut album, "Hãy mỉm cười" (Smile) , reflecting the youthful and innocent spirit of a 17-year-old. In 2013, she released the album "Mười tám +" (Eighteen+), offering a fresh perspective and musical style.

In 2021, her third album , Huong, presented a feminine side of Van Mai Huong. Her fourth album , Minh Tinh, was a musical world with a strong cinematic feel.
