Year-end orders are booming.

In the final months of 2025, the production and export of fruits and vegetables were vibrant at many businesses. The agricultural sector aims to achieve at least $8 billion in fruit and vegetable exports by 2025. There are already many indications that this goal can be met.

The export target of at least $8 billion for the whole year is highly achievable.

Recently, Vietnamese pomelo shipments have undergone strict pest control, sugar content testing, and have fully met technical requirements before being exported to Australia. Currently, four containers of pomelo have officially cleared customs, opening up significant opportunities for Vietnamese fruit in this market.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung, General Director of Vina T&T Company, said that customers in Australia have already placed about 10 orders: "Once the procedures for planting area codes and packaging plants are completed, the company can export immediately. This is an optimistic sign for the fourth quarter."

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung, General Director of Vina T&T Company, demand from Australian partners is increasing rapidly, with approximately 10 orders already placed.

Durian plays a leading role.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , in November 2025 alone, the export value of fruits and vegetables reached approximately 850. million USD , bringing the total export value for the first 11 months to 7.91 billion USD . Of which, durian continued to be the main product with an export value of 3.7 billion USD .

Durian industry strives to control quality, contributing up to $3.7 billion in revenue after 11 months.

After a period of difficulties due to quality control, Vietnamese durian has gradually returned to the "billion-dollar race" thanks to stricter production processes, improved standards, and market diversification. To maintain this result, many businesses have proactively applied solutions for deep processing and input quality control.

Mr. Vo Tan Loi, Director of Phuong Ngoc Import-Export Co., Ltd., said that the company purchases durian from orchards or traders and conducts quality checks. “If it meets the requirements, the product will be separated into segments, frozen, and exported. This solution helps to brighten the durian market,” Mr. Loi said.

FTAs create momentum for market expansion.

Besides the efforts of businesses, free trade agreements continue to be an important "lever" for fruit and vegetable exports. Currently, Vietnam has signed 19 FTAs , helping many agricultural products overcome tariff and quota barriers in major markets.

The 19 Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) facilitate businesses in overcoming tariff and quota barriers and accessing many new markets.

Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, said that FTAs have supported farmers and businesses in expanding markets and enhancing competitiveness.

From a management perspective, Mr. Hoang Trung, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment, noted that Vietnamese farmers are increasingly knowledgeable about production processes that meet the standards of demanding markets such as Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. When producers meet these requirements, businesses will be able to leverage this advantage to connect with international partners.

According to Mr. Hoang Trung, Vietnamese farmers are increasingly producing in a systematic manner and understanding the technical processes required by demanding markets.

Expectations to surpass the $8 billion mark.

With positive signals from the market, production, and policies, the fruit and vegetable industry is expected to confidently surpass the $8 billion mark in 2025. Under favorable conditions, export turnover could even reach over $10 billion, further affirming the position of Vietnamese fruits in the international market.
