The delegation, led by Deputy Director Pham Van Thuy, included experts, managers, tourism businesses, and media representatives.

The program to survey the actual conditions at community tourism destinations in Quang Tri province aims to assess the potential, opportunities, challenges, and propose appropriate solutions to build a sustainable community tourism development program linked to new rural development, in accordance with the local reality.

In Quang Tri, the delegation surveyed prominent community and ecotourism destinations such as Ban Coi Da Stream, Rum Ho village, Ta Puong, Chenh Venh hamlet, Phong Huong Forest, etc.

The first destination is Ban Coi Da Stream, an ecotourism spot with outstanding scenery featuring pristine landscapes, majestic mountains, natural rock formations, and lush green valleys. The clear, picturesque stream flowing through Ban Coi Da village is an ideal location for community tourism, camping, trekking to explore nature, and the Cha Loi cave. It attracts visitors from April to September due to its peaceful beauty and fresh air, where visitors can experience a slower pace of life, campfires, fishing, swimming, and enjoying local cuisine .

The delegation then traveled to Rum Ho village, a small village located about 75km southwest of Dong Hoi city center, known for its sustainable tourism practices linked to forest conservation. The delegation from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, led by Deputy Director Pham Van Thuy, met and worked with Son Homestay – the first homestay tourism model built in Rum Ho village. It was established by Ms. Ho Thi Son and her husband with the support of Helvetas Vietnam, Netin Co., Ltd., and local villagers.

According to Ms. Ho Thi Son, since the tourism projects were launched, the local people have received support from organizations and businesses, opening up the potential for sustainable tourism development, protecting forest resources, and promoting the cultural identity of the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group. Here, tourists can participate in adventurous tourism activities such as zip-lining, crossing the Duong Cam waterfall and Cong Troi waterfall, or camping overnight in the forest.

The delegation also visited and worked at the Chênh Vênh Community Tourism Village. This is an attractive destination for those who love nature, culture, and want to experience responsible tourism. Chênh Vênh is a place where mountains and forests harmonize, culture flourishes, and people live in close connection with nature. The local people shared that visitors will have the opportunity to explore the majestic natural beauty and experience the traditional culture of the Vân Kiều people, from traditional stilt houses to flavorful local dishes. Every evening, a Vân Kiều ethnic group performs traditional arts such as love songs accompanied by gong music.

At Doong Bui Homestay, the group experienced the rustic village atmosphere, the sound of streams flowing behind the stilt houses, and meals full of the flavors of the mountains and forests. The homestay offers a combination of relaxation and cultural experience, with local specialties such as free-range chicken, stream fish, and wild vegetables. The group also had the opportunity to make and pound sticky rice with the local people.

Continue your journey to the Ta Puong cave and waterfall complex. Located about 120km from the center of Dong Ha, Ta Puong waterfall is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Quang Tri province, especially in the summer. Here, in addition to enjoying the beautiful scenery and swimming, visitors can participate in a number of physical activities such as SUP paddling, bamboo boat rowing, trekking, mountain climbing… or visit the Ta Puong cave not far away.

The survey team visited the North Huong Hoa Science and Technology Application Research Station.

The community tourism survey program in Quang Tri not only aims to assess the potential and development orientation of unique local tourism products, but also demonstrates the commitment of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration to accompanying and supporting Quang Tri in developing sustainable tourism, preserving and promoting local cultural values, and contributing to improving the lives of local people through tourism activities.

Through this program, experts, managers, and tourism businesses have a basis to comprehensively assess Quang Tri's potential in developing community-based tourism, especially in types such as ecotourism, experiential tourism, cultural-historical tourism, and tourism commemorating former battlefields.

With the support of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration and the active participation of local authorities, businesses, and the community, community-based tourism in Quang Tri is expected to gradually assert its position and become a new highlight of the North Central region, thereby spreading the image of a Quang Tri rich in identity, friendly, and attractive to domestic and international tourists.
