Within the framework of Techfest Vietnam 2025 Week held in Hanoi, the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology) for the first time organized a ceremony to honor outstanding products and entrepreneurs who have made practical contributions to local economic development .

The event attracted hundreds of businesses, experts, and innovative startup models from various economic regions across the country, and also became a forum for in-depth exchange on the role of the State in creating, the proactive role of localities and the business community in building a sustainable innovation and startup ecosystem.

The workshop took place in the context of the nationwide strong implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, which identifies science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation as key breakthroughs for rapid and sustainable development. Accordingly, innovative startups are no longer a standalone economic activity, but have become an important component in national and local growth strategies .

With the participation of experts, managers, and businesses from many provinces and cities, many opinions at the workshop emphasized the leading role of the State in overcoming "market failures ".   A common characteristic of innovation activities is the requirement for large capital investments, high risks, and long payback periods.

At the ceremony, Mr. Pham Hong Quat, Director of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises, presented Certificates of Merit to many outstanding businesses, entrepreneurs, managers, and experts, recognizing their valuable initiatives and solutions in promoting innovative startups and developing the innovation ecosystem in localities . Among them was Mr. Nguyen Duy Khuong -   The Vice President of the Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association was honored in two categories:   "Outstanding managers, experts, and advisors in supporting the development of a team of science and technology entrepreneurs and businesses."   "Local innovative startup entrepreneurs" and "Science and technology entrepreneurs" .   Typical innovative startups have outstanding projects and solutions that address local challenges .

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Duy Khuong said that being honored in two categories simultaneously holds special significance, not only for him personally but also as recognition of the collective efforts in building an innovative startup ecosystem linked to science and technology in the locality .

"This is an honor, but also a greater responsibility in the context of the country implementing the Party's strategic resolutions on science and technology ."   "Technology, innovation, and private sector economic development," Mr. Khuong emphasized .

According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Khuong, Resolution 57-NQ/TW clearly established science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the foundation for long-term development, while Resolution 68-NQ/TW affirmed that the private sector is an important driving force of the national economy .

The intersection of these two resolutions has opened up vast development opportunities for science and technology enterprises and innovative startups. While Resolution 57 provides a foundation in knowledge and technology, Resolution 68 serves as the institutional framework and market impetus for research results to enter production and business, becoming tangible economic value .

Based on his experience supporting businesses in Dong Nai and many other localities, Mr. Khuong believes that the biggest bottleneck currently lies not in the idea itself, but in commercialization, market expansion, and business management .

"Many science and technology projects have a high knowledge content and directly address local problems such as high-tech agriculture, deep processing, or logistics, but they cannot achieve breakthroughs due to a lack of business strategy, capital, and market connections. Therefore, the role of mentors, startup support organizations, and the network of entrepreneurs is extremely important ," Mr. Khuong analyzed.

In the context of digital transformation and increasingly deep international integration, Mr. Nguyen Duy Khuong believes that science-based entrepreneurs ...   Technology and innovative startup entrepreneurs need to play a pioneering role, not only in economic development but also in solving sustainable development challenges.
