A major fire broke out at a nearly 1,000m² leather shoe factory in Hai Phong.

(PLVN) - On the morning of December 14th, a serious fire broke out at the leather shoe factory of Oanh Van Co., Ltd., covering an area of ​​nearly 1,000m² in Dong Tien village, Chan Hung commune, Hai Phong city, completely destroying the factory building.

According to initial reports, at around 8:00 AM that same day, residents living near the area noticed smoke and flames rising from the factory. Because the factory contained many flammable materials used in the footwear industry, the fire quickly spread and intensified. At the scene, thick black smoke billowed high into the air, engulfing the entire area and causing panic among the surrounding residents.

The entire factory area was engulfed in flames in a short period of time.

According to a local resident who witnessed the incident, the fire quickly engulfed most of the factory, and the intense heat caused part of the roof to collapse, posing a risk of spreading to neighboring areas.

Immediately after receiving the report, the commune police quickly arrived at the scene and coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hai Phong City Police to implement measures to extinguish the fire and ensure security and order in the area.

Authorities mobilized approximately 10 specialized fire trucks along with dozens of officers and soldiers to fight the fire, contain the blaze, and prevent it from spreading.

By 2 PM the same day, the fire was basically under control.

No casualties have been reported so far. The cause of the fire and the extent of property damage are being investigated by the authorities in accordance with the law.
