In the latest developments of the series, the "turnaround" of the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Viet Dong Provincial Party Committee, Le Dinh Sach (played by People's Artist Trung Anh), has received much attention. Throughout the series, Mr. Sach's image has been portrayed as an honest and calm official. However, in episode 28, his secret romantic relationship with My Trinh (Chairwoman of Trinh Tam Group) has shattered viewers' illusions about this character; because the controversies surrounding Trinh Tam Group's project are a "hot" issue in Viet Dong province, causing headaches for the provincial leadership as they try to find a fair solution that balances the rights and interests of the people and the business.
From the moment it was announced, "The Dividing Line" stood out from other television dramas currently airing on VTV. Belonging to the political drama genre, the series addresses pressing current social issues: mergers, streamlining of the administrative apparatus, appointments, transfers, personnel arrangements, and the fight against corruption and "group interests." The film conveys the message that streamlining the administrative apparatus is not just an administrative procedure; it is also a "moral test" of the entire system, a purification of character and will. Choosing compromise or confrontation, firmness or leniency, integrity or corruption depends on each individual.
The film "The Dividing Line" brings together a cast of veteran actors with strong acting abilities. Besides People's Artist Trung Anh, the film also features People's Artist Trong Trinh, Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong, Bao Anh, Tien Loc, Anh Dao, Manh Cuong, Huyen Trang, Doan Quoc Dam, Ha Viet Dung… Many of them, such as Manh Truong and Hong Diem, have taken on roles that break away from the image they were previously associated with on the small screen.
The film has many positive points due to its fast-paced rhythm and relatable details, avoiding bombastic or pretentious portrayals. However, the portrayal of professional aspects of the judicial system has sparked some controversy due to a gap between the film and reality, with some details considered "a bit theatrical" and unconvincing.
According to VTV Ratings – a system measuring audience ratings for VTV channels of Vietnam Television – the series is maintaining stable and relatively high ratings, consistently above 3%. Notably, some episodes from 22 to 25 nearly reached 4% with over 2.5 million viewers per episode.
The series "The Boundary Line" is expected to have 50 episodes and is currently airing at 9 PM from Monday to Friday on VTV1.
