Research proposes vocational training solutions and job creation for discharged soldiers in Hai Phong city by 2030

On the afternoon of August 20, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) held a conference to consult and evaluate the acceptance of the task of "Researching and proposing solutions for vocational training and job creation for demobilized soldiers in Hai Phong city until 2030". The task was chaired by the Hai Phong City Veterans Association.

With the goal of proposing vocational training and employment solutions for demobilized soldiers in Hai Phong city by 2030, the research team conducted a survey on vocational training and employment for demobilized soldiers in Hai Phong with 800 survey forms. The results obtained were: vocational counseling and job referrals for 9,216 demobilized soldiers, of which 7,103 soldiers received vocational training and received jobs, accounting for nearly 77% of the total number of people consulted; college level, the rate of demobilized soldiers having jobs immediately after graduation reached 85%, intermediate level reached over 80%, elementary level reached 90%; vocational training activities were innovated in a flexible direction, close to the needs of the labor market such as: information technology, mechanics - electronics, industrial equipment operation, logistics... in line with the economic development orientation of the city.

In addition to the achieved results, the research results still have some limitations in the issue of vocational training and job creation for demobilized soldiers, such as: training quality is not really uniform among facilities; some training occupations are not close to the practical needs of the labor market; the rate of demobilized soldiers with stable jobs after training is still modest...

From the assessment of the current situation, the research team proposed 7 groups of solutions to improve the quality of vocational training and create jobs for demobilized soldiers in Hai Phong city by 2030, including: propaganda, raising awareness; promoting the leadership and direction of party committees at all levels, military units, local authorities and demobilized soldiers; solutions on mechanisms and policies; improving the quality and effectiveness of vocational training for demobilized soldiers; creating jobs for demobilized soldiers; solutions on coordination and association of management agencies; Building a vocational training model.

The Council agreed to accept the topic, however, the research team needs to edit and supplement some of the following contents: there needs to be a regulation on coordination between agencies in the field of training and job creation; Assessments need to have supporting data; content arrangement needs to be more logical…./.
