Prochum Meáp Chhum Pagoda (Krăng Króch Pagoda), often called Hang Cong Pagoda by locals, is located in An Hoa Hamlet, Chau Lang Commune, Tri Ton District, An Giang.

Recently, the image of the pagoda seen from above has attracted attention on social networks. The pagoda has a combination of traditional Khmer architecture and modernity, bright pink, standing out in the middle of a vast, green field. The path to the pagoda has rows of shady old trees, creating a peaceful scene, close to nature.

The remarkable images were recorded and shared by Mr. Duy An (Long Xuyen City, An Giang), a photography lover.

"I have been to the pagoda many times. The pagoda's architecture is very beautiful, the space is peaceful and quiet. This is the cultural center of the Khmer community during major festivals. People often gather at the pagoda, offer flowers, food, participate in rituals and pray for a peaceful life," An shared.

The temple is hundreds of years old and has been restored many times, but still retains the typical architecture of Southern Khmer culture. The temple roof is designed in a three-tiered style, with curved corners creating a majestic and solemn atmosphere. The pillars are meticulously carved with dragons and divine birds, religious symbols of Southern Buddhism.

An impressive point for Mr. Duy An and many visitors when coming to this pagoda is the two rows of ancient trees leading from the gate to the pagoda grounds. Each tree has a large trunk, about 2-3 people can hug around, with a lush, shady canopy. The tallest tree is about 15m tall.

Cống, also known as tamarind, purple muong, sleeping muong... is an easy-to-grow tree that can withstand drought and heavy rain very well. The bark is dark brown; the leaves grow symmetrically, dormant (close) before sunset or when it starts to rain; the flowers are pink or light purple, and have a very fragrant smell.

The road of green, neat rows of ancient trees makes visitors feel peaceful and ancient. The trees are cared for and protected by the temple, local people and Buddhists. Some trees with rotten trunks will be cut down to ensure the safety of visitors to the temple. These trees are then crafted into handicrafts and displayed in the temple grounds.

"The road is also a residential road for people to go to the fields. The image of people carrying rice, children playing or monks begging for alms on the road is extremely peaceful," said Mr. An.
