The first El Clásico of the 2025/26 La Liga season will take place this weekend. It's a clash that's always heated both on and off the pitch and is worth more than just three points.

If they defeat their arch-rivals, Barca (22 points) will take the top spot in La Liga after 10 matches. In the opposite case, or a draw, Real Madrid (24 points) will remain at the top of the table.

According to MB, Hansi Flick understands the significance of an El Clasico match very well, having analyzed every detail of the game for days. He is said to have made several changes in recent training sessions.

And while there are still doubts about who will partner Pau Cubarsi in defense—Ronald Araujo or Eric Garcia—it seems he has already chosen a trio for the attack against Real Madrid.

Under normal circumstances, the trio of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Lewandowski would be the default choice, without question. However, due to the Polish striker's injury and Raphinha's continued discomfort and lack of 100% fitness, Hansi Flick was forced to make a bold choice.

And for this match against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, everything suggests that Barca's starting trio will be Lamine Yamal, Marcus Rashford, and Ferran Torres.

Hansi Flick knows that in a big match like this, speed, directness, and efficiency are the deciding factors. That's why he chose a combination of youth, experience, and goal-scoring ability.

MB added that Ferran Torres, who is in excellent physical condition, has impressed the German coach in recent training sessions. The coach particularly appreciates the player's work rate and ability to control space. Furthermore, Torres understands his teammates' movements and can provide solutions depending on the situation on the field.

With Rashford as the key attacking spearhead and Lamine Yamal breaking through on the right wing, Barca will look to attack Real Madrid's spaces with speed. Flick's idea is to instruct his players to take advantage of every space to launch sharp counter-attacks.

Last season, Hansi Flick's Barca won all four matches against Real Madrid (two in La Liga, the Spanish Super Cup final, and the Copa del Rey final). But the situation is different this season; Real Madrid, with Xabi Alonso, are in excellent form, while Barca haven't been able to maintain the same pace as last year, as Flick himself admitted.
