At this time, after receiving information about storm No. 3 that could affect the area, fishermen have temporarily stopped fishing at sea. At the same time, they have deployed towing and moving boats and fishing gear to high areas next to the protective casuarina forest and coastal routes to anchor, avoid the storm, and minimize damage.


Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (67 years old, resident of Thien Cam commune) said that according to the initial forecast, storm No. 3 is very strong, moving fast and dangerous. Therefore, since this morning, despite the rainy weather, fishermen have urgently mobilized manpower, hired tractors to pull boats ashore, then tied them up to ensure safety.




Currently, there are 3,983 fishing boats registered in Ha Tinh province. The Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province has been presiding over and coordinating with relevant agencies and local authorities of coastal areas to guide boats to anchor and tie up. The unit has notified, counted and guided 3,983 vehicles/10,994 people to understand the developments and direction of the storm to proactively avoid it.


As of now, there are 3,979 vehicles anchored at ports and yards (not out at sea). The remaining 4 vehicles with 15 workers operating at sea have also received information about storm No. 3 and are on their way back to shelters.


The Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province also directed coastal units to strengthen inspection, control and strictly manage the departure of ships and boats; coordinate with local authorities to warn of dangers, resolutely evacuate people from cages, aquaculture watchtowers to safe places; at the same time, arrange ships and boats to ensure security, order and safety of property at anchorage areas and evacuation areas...


On the afternoon of July 21, in Sam Son ward ( Thanh Hoa province) , the rain began to get heavier with many strong winds and turbid waves.

According to the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Thanh Hoa province, the province has issued a ban on going to sea since the morning of July 21. By the afternoon of the same day, the whole province had 6,566 vehicles with 21,868 workers anchored ashore and safely sheltered from the storm; there were still 9 vehicles with 88 workers operating in the sea areas of Quang Tri - Hue and Ca Mau. These vehicles have all received information about storm No. 3 and are in regular contact with their families and authorities.


Although storm number 3 has not yet made landfall, heavy rain and thunderstorms have caused severe damage.
According to initial statistics, the whole province had 221 houses with their roofs blown off, 2 schools and 2 agency headquarters were damaged, 1 house had to be urgently relocated due to high risk of landslides; nearly 19 hectares of rice, more than 61 hectares of crops, 33.5 hectares of annual crops, 5 hectares of perennial trees were damaged; 57 urban and shade trees were broken; 61 low-voltage power poles and 6 telecommunication poles were broken; 3 cars and 4 motorbikes were damaged... A resident in Hai Tien village (Nhu Thanh commune) was seriously injured by a tree falling on him.
