Surprised when the content of the above passage was spread online, author Doan Cong Le Huy said that the original passage was printed in the collection Doan Cong Le Huy - book "Writing for small things - Sending you, white clouds" published in 2016, revised in 2021 (Kim Dong Publishing House). This passage was also published by him in Hoa Hoc Tro newspaper.

Afterwards, the group of authors compiled this passage and asked to include it in the 7th grade Literature textbook (The book series Connecting knowledge with life). " I agree to let the people who made the book edit it and remove the word 'vagina' from the textbook," he said.

Author Doan Cong Le Huy confirmed that the original text has the word "vagina" similar to the controversial Literature text (left). However, the text is being cited incorrectly because the Literature 7 textbook does not have this sentence.

Regarding concerns that the use of the word "vagina" is sensitive and inappropriate for students, author Doan Cong Le Huy affirmed that the word "vagina" in the sentence is not offensive in terms of both language and aesthetics.

"There is nothing offensive about the vagina, it is even sacred. The vagina is the path that a baby must pass through to come to this world . When I wrote the essay, I really wanted to normalize that word," he said.

Mr. Doan Cong Le Huy gave the example of the uterus - the palace, the majestic castle where the child lives in the mother, in terms of meaning, it is very beautiful. The vagina is similar - simply a part, a reproductive structure in the female body. At the same time, secondary school students in puberty can completely absorb this knowledge, there is no need to avoid it.

"I regret that word was not included in textbooks for reasons of inappropriateness in terms of school education , psychology, age, gender sensitivity and gender discrimination," the author said.
