On the last day of the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, people returned to the capital's bus stations with their belongings, preparing for the upcoming days of work and study. Many people waited for an hour, waving five times before catching a bus back to Hanoi.
According to Dan Viet newspaper reporters, at 4:00 p.m. on February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), at My Dinh bus station, people began returning to the capital after a 9-day Tet holiday.
"After lunch today, my mother took me to catch a bus back to Hanoi to work. Every bus that passed by was locked and the bus company did not invite passengers to get on the bus like usual. I had to stand there for hours waving for a bus, waving five times before I could catch a bus. When I got to the entrance of Hanoi, there were many buses stuck, the bus had to move very slowly to get to the station, so I felt very tired," said Hanh Nguyen.
When people return, they all bring gifts from their hometown and a lot of belongings.
Children were also brought back to the capital by their families to prepare for school tomorrow.
Due to having to travel a long distance and the traffic was crowded, everyone's faces showed signs of fatigue.
Many people have to lie down temporarily on waiting chairs at the bus station to rest after traveling long distances.
Many children appeared tired after the long journey from their hometown to Hanoi.
People sat dejectedly waiting for the bus.
At Giap Bat bus station, buses from the provinces continuously arrive to drop off passengers.

After traveling hundreds of kilometers by bus, Thu Phuong (from Thai Binh ) returned to Hanoi with a box of gifts from her hometown prepared by her family at home. "Because of my busy work, I can't go back to my hometown all the time. Tet holidays like this are really meaningful to me and my family," Ngoc Anh shared.
Parents both lead and hold their children and carry their belongings.
The same situation happened at Nuoc Ngam bus station.
Passengers receive their luggage and belongings after the trip.
People called relatives to pick them up and took a bus home after a long journey.
Most passengers, when returning, stop to rest at the bus station for a while, then carry their belongings and move out of the bus station.
The atmosphere at the bus station was bustling on the last day of the Tet holiday.
