People swing in hammocks, ignore signs prohibiting entry into dangerous subsidence dike in Hanoi

Báo Dân ViệtBáo Dân Việt07/11/2024

The government has posted signs prohibiting and warning of dangerous landslides, but many motorcyclists still deliberately break through the fence to enter Yen Nghia dike ( Hanoi ), which is currently experiencing serious subsidence.

At the intersection with Highway 6, due to the narrow road, traffic jams often occur on this dike road. The cross-section of the dike road is quite narrow, the road surface is rough, with many potholes, posing a high risk of traffic insecurity.

According to local residents, the fact that many heavy-duty vehicles travel through this dike every day is one of the reasons why the dike is deteriorating so quickly.
