Kinhtedothi - On the last working day of the year before the Lunar New Year holiday, tens of thousands of people left the capital to return to their hometowns for Tet. Many roads in the capital were congested early. Bus stations also recorded an increase in the number of passengers.
On routes such as Nguyen Trai, Tran Phu, Giai Phong, Nguyen Xien… vehicles jostle each other, inching forward.
The Tet holiday lasts 9 days, many people actively travel, making traffic pressure in the capital more bearable than the Lunar New Year holiday in previous years.
Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh, residing in Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province, said: "I proactively asked for half a day off early to travel back to my hometown. Traveling on the crowded Ring Road 3, moving slowly but not having any traffic jams. Traveling from Cau Giay to Phap Van takes 30 minutes."
Arriving at the bus station to return home for Tet, Ms. Le Thi Luong, from Thanh Hoa, said: "I booked my ticket a week in advance, and as soon as I got to the station, I got a bus back, without having to wait too long. This year, the Tet holiday is long, so I will return to the capital earlier to avoid the crowds."
