On the afternoon of May 11, Bac Quang Regional General Hospital ( Ha Giang ) received emergency treatment for patient BTO (44 years old, residing in Bang Hanh commune, Bac Quang district) in critical condition after being stung by a swarm of wasps while cutting grass.
According to relatives, after being stung by a bee , the patient had the following symptoms: headache, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, and abdominal pain. At the time of admission, the patient was agitated, restless, had purple lips, swelling of the face and neck, purple veins all over the body, continuous difficulty breathing, reduced lung ventilation, undetectable radial pulse, and rapid, weak femoral pulse. The patient had more than 150 bee stings on his body, dark red, blistered, causing severe pain.

Immediately, the Emergency Department team determined that this was a case of grade 3 anaphylactic shock - a severe level that could be life-threatening if not treated quickly. The patient was urgently treated according to the Ministry of Health 's protocol: Adrenaline injection, oxygen, IV fluids, and close monitoring of vital signs.
After the intervention, the patient's condition improved significantly: alert, good contact, no more purple lips, less headache and light breathing. The patient was then transferred to a higher level for further monitoring, anti-venom treatment, and control of multi-organ damage caused by bee venom.
