Meanwhile, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center - the unit directly managing this national treasure of the Nguyen Dynasty - has not yet provided official information about the incident.
According to records, on the evening of May 24, Facebook spread images of a man entering Thai Hoa Palace, then sitting on the throne and destroying it.
According to the posted content, a man crossed the security fence, climbed up and sat cross-legged on the Nguyen Dynasty throne and shouted loudly, before breaking the throne.
Images recorded by tourists visiting Thai Hoa Palace and posted on social media caused a stir in public opinion in Hue on the night of May 24 and early morning of May 25.

The throne is a symbol of the dynasty's power, passed down through 13 generations of Nguyen Dynasty kings . The throne is made of wood, 101cm high, 72cm wide, and 87cm long.
Above the throne is a canopy of gilded wood and splendid enamel decoration. Below is the throne platform with three tiers of gilded wood. All are made of wood with many dragon images symbolizing blessings, longevity, and luck.
The throne of the Nguyen Dynasty kings was recognized as a national treasure of Vietnam in 2015 and is located at Thai Hoa Palace, for tourists to admire and visit.
