In Quang Ngai province, from July 1, 2025 to September 2025, African swine fever occurred in the pig herds of nearly 11,000 households in 61 communes, wards and special zones. More than 80,000 infected pigs had to be destroyed, causing huge economic losses to farmers.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ngai province has instructed localities to resolutely and synchronously implement solutions for epidemic prevention and post-epidemic herd restoration. The authorities recommend that when re-herding, breeders should choose breeds with clear origins, provided by reputable suppliers, and with quarantine certificates.
