On the afternoon of September 3, after the 4-day National Day holiday, people began returning to Ho Chi Minh City. The number of vehicles pouring into the gateways was quite large, causing congestion in many places.
According to records at the western gateway, the number of people traveling by motorbike is very large, so the National Highway 1 (section through Binh Chanh district) is quite crowded. Vehicles line up and move slowly.
This route also has many buses, trucks and private cars traveling from the Western provinces to Ho Chi Minh City.
However, on National Highway 1 (near An Lac roundabout), the road is very clear and vehicles move quickly.

At Mien Tay Bus Station, the number of passengers arriving at the station is very large. In front of this bus station, there are also dozens of cars and technology vehicles lining up to pick up passengers.
Most people were carrying luggage and gifts. Despite the long journey, many people were still smiling and happy.
Thuy Tien (from Dong Thap ) said that after the holiday, the gifts from her hometown that she brought to Ho Chi Minh City were water lilies and many seafoods such as fish, shrimp, crab...
"This year, going back to my hometown and back to Ho Chi Minh City was not much of a traffic jam, only about 45 minutes longer than usual," Tien said.
Mr. Ho Manh Quang (living in District 6, a technology car driver) said that customers from the provinces returning to Ho Chi Minh City have been scattered since yesterday afternoon (September 2) and are most crowded this afternoon. To make money, Mr. Quang will return to the bus station immediately after dropping off customers to catch the next trip.
Technology drivers work at full capacity on the last day of the holiday.
In other areas in Ho Chi Minh City such as An Phu intersection (Thu Duc City), National Highway 13, in front of the old Eastern Bus Station (Binh Thanh) and the new Eastern Bus Station (Thu Duc City), the number of vehicles arriving is also quite large but only slightly congested.
Similarly, in front of Tan Son Nhat airport, traffic is slow. Inside, the number of taxis is increased to serve passengers.
This year, traffic jams in Ho Chi Minh City are not as serious as in previous years. It is expected that when key traffic projects are put into operation, people will have more convenience in traveling, especially during holidays and Tet.
