Ms. Kha Thi Thien, a resident of Xop Tu village who has just moved to a new place in the Mo Nung resettlement area, said that in previous years, when the rainy season came, the villagers were always afraid of landslides and flash floods like in 2018. Now, that fear is gone as her family and 50 other households have moved to the new resettlement area of the village.
Mr. Luong Van Bay - Chairman of My Ly Commune People's Committee said that Xop Tu village has 176 households, the historic flood in 2018 has seriously affected and threatened 51 households of Xop Tu village. These are households living along Mo Nung stream, their houses are at risk of collapsing into the riverbed. Therefore, the local government has proposed to build a Mo Nung resettlement area with a scale of 51 households in Xop Tu village.
