On March 8, according to Tien Phong newspaper , the authorities of Di An ward (Di An city, Binh Duong province) have placed warning signs on a residential road with a parallel railway. This move was made after social media users circulated a video recording many motorbike riders slipping and falling onto the road while passing through this area.

The location of the incident is the railway section connecting Di An Station (Di An City) with Di An Railway Factory (Di An Railway Joint Stock Company). This railway section only serves to transport locomotives and train cars to Di An Railway Factory for maintenance and repair.

The railway section parallel to Ly Thuong Kiet Street, a location where motorbikes often slip and fall, is at the intersection with Nguyen Trai Street.

Mr. Tuan Khang, a resident of the area where the route passes through, said that the railway is not used for trains, only when the locomotive or carriages are damaged will they be moved to the repair site. “The railway section is rarely used, even my friends who came to visit my house asked why the railway was not used and had not been dismantled. Many people thought the railway was abandoned. Cars and motorbikes travel through here every day,” Mr. Khang shared.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hoang Hai, living on Ly Thuong Kiet Street (Di An Ward, Di An City) added: "Many people ride motorbikes between the two railway tracks. When turning right onto Nguyen Trai Street, the motorbikes run over the railway tracks, causing them to slip and fall. People who drive slowly, when they fall, get up and continue running, but there are also many cases of falling and getting injured."

According to the representative of the People's Committee of Di An Ward, the above mentioned road section is heavily flooded during the rainy season because the water has no place to drain. The locality wants to renovate it to make it easier for people to travel and create an urban landscape, but they do not have enough authority because the railway section is managed by the railway.

Motorbikes often slip and fall on the railway tracks.

According to the reporter's investigation, in recent years, facing the shortcomings and impacts on people's lives on the above-mentioned route, voters in Binh Duong province have reflected and requested the Ministry of Transport to upgrade and repair it.

In January 2023 and September 2024, the Ministry of Transport responded twice, stating that it had assigned the Vietnam Railway Authority to preside over and coordinate with the Vietnam Railway Corporation and local agencies to inspect and review records and documents related to the implementation of the investment project "renovating and repairing the railway from Km0+00 - Km+500 of the railway line to the Di An railway factory, according to the national railway infrastructure maintenance plan in 2023".

Receiving the reply, local people were excited and waited for the route to change, but so far, the renovation and repair have not been carried out.
