Ms. Toi strives to raise livestock to develop the economy to set an example for her fellow members. |
These are Ta Oi women who spend all year round working on cassava and corn fields, always in short supply, but are afraid to borrow capital for fear of not being successful and having a deficit, unable to repay the debt. Ms. Toi encouraged the women to boldly borrow capital, and at the same time wholeheartedly advised and guided them on how to develop the economy in accordance with the conditions of each member family. Thanks to that encouragement and guidance, dozens of women in the village boldly borrowed policy capital to do business.
“Ms. Ho Thi Bi borrowed 50 million VND to raise pigs and grow acacia. The pig litters were scientifically “interspersed” so that almost every month there would be pigs for sale; ensuring the principal and interest payments were made on time; buying back breeding pigs, and setting aside a portion for savings. Acacia and cajuput are considered “savings”. Now Ms. Bi’s household has escaped poverty, and the economy is stable. Ms. Dang Thi Lo and Ms. Ho Thi Vac borrowed 100 million VND to expand their grocery store and develop the weaving profession”…, Ms. Toi said. For her, each member who escapes poverty is a fire of warmth and prosperity for the village.
With a dedicated branch president, the Paris - Kavin Women's Association has built a separate fund, which is lent to members in need without interest. Thanks to that, many households such as A Viet Phieu, Dang Thi Tuoi, etc., have more conditions to build their economy. What is special is that this fund is contributed by women in the form of labor days. "Many households have land but no one to grow acacia or rice, so we women come to help. The market price is 200,000 VND/day, but we only take 30,000 VND to raise funds. Each year, each person contributes a few dozen labor days like that," said Ms. Toi.
Under the “guidance” of Ms. Toi, women’s activities in Paris - Kavin village are always vibrant, practical and full of love. Effectively implementing the movement “Turning trash into money”, recyclable waste is collected and sold by women to earn money, supporting children in difficult circumstances. A typical example is Hoang Thi Hon, an orphan with congenital heart disease, who has received gifts many times, filled with warm hearts.
Connected by the association president and participating in meaningful activities together, the women's association members of Paris - Kavin village are increasingly united and united. The members are always willing to share difficulties with single-parent families and those lacking labor. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ngut is old and sick and no longer has the strength to work on the fields, so the women invite each other to go to the fields to help plant acacia. Ms. Ra Pat Thi Ty and Blup Thi Oanh have just given birth and cannot go to the fields, so dozens of members join hands to help thin out the rice and plant seedlings in time for the season.
The women also volunteered to go to the forest to chop firewood, contribute rice, help clean houses, and visit and encourage families with meritorious services to the revolution. From these seemingly small acts, Ms. Toi and the members have spread the spirit of mutual love and support widely in the community.
According to Ms. Ho Thi Hong, Head of Paris - Kavin village, the strong development of the women's movement in the village is primarily due to the culture of love and mutual support of the Ta Oi people for generations. However, for the movement to truly enter life, it needs the connection and enthusiasm of a leader like Ms. Toi.
“Ms. Toi is not only an “extended arm” of the Association at the grassroots level but also a spiritual support for many members. With her dedication and responsibility, she has promoted a core role in building the movement to help women develop the economy and reduce poverty,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of Lam Dot Commune.
