The book "The Timekeeper" includes 33 true stories, divided into 3 parts: Beginning: Through loneliness; Challenge: Facing the pain of losing control; Acceptance: Peace at the end of the journey.
Through the journey of taking care of his father who is now nearly 100 years old, the author recounts specific situations in a close and simple way, but contains profound lessons on how to preserve the joy of life, how to take care of the spirit and connect between generations in the family.
After each story, the author shares some conclusions as advice for readers on how to take care of their loved ones' mental and physical health, helping them find joy in life every day.
At the end of each part of the book, the author also offers very practical solutions to help us better visualize the challenges we face and overcome when caring for a loved one.
In particular, at the end of the book, the author summarizes the peaceful journey with his parents, and helps readers know "10 signs of loneliness in the elderly and how to break their silence".
Through the book, readers can clearly see that for the elderly, strength lies not in modern medicines or care methods but also in presence and care, knowing how to listen, loving actions, and very small connections.
Life is a cycle and old age is a natural part. But these pages are not only the personal story of author Le Thi Thanh Lam and her father, but also a gentle reminder that each of us will sooner or later enter the autumn of our lives.
Author Le Thi Thanh Lam said: We all grow old, it is inevitable, but what we can choose is how we welcome that golden age and how we love, care for, and understand our loved ones who are entering their golden age today is how we prepare ourselves mentally for the future.

“Therefore, taking care of parents in their old age is not an obligation but an opportunity for us to learn how to slow down, love more deeply and prepare ourselves for a peaceful state of mind,” said author Le Thi Thanh Lam.
According to Ms. Ly Viet Trung, Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper, The Timekeeper opens up a very private space: a space of memories, emotions, care and healing.
This is not a manual, nor a diary. This is a spiritual guidebook written with real experience, real love, and very real reflections of a son who chose to be with his father during his precious golden years.
“I believe this book will reach many people, especially those who are wondering where to start taking care of their elderly parents, or have been tormented by things they have not done.
And I hope that in every Vietnamese home, there will be more gentle conversations sparked after each page of this book, so that parents can live their golden years to the fullest and children can live their filial piety, not through success in society, but through love at home," Ms. Ly Viet Trung shared.
