Workers in difficulty will receive gifts of 1.3 million VND on the occasion of Tet Binh Ngo 2026

This is one of the notable points in the plan to organize activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, which has just been issued by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Accordingly, Plan No. 34/KH-TLĐ was built with the theme "Tet Sum vay - Xuan ung dep Party" and the motto of action is "All union members and workers have Tet, enjoy Tet" to create a peak point of care and support for union members and workers; especially those in difficult circumstances, affected by natural disasters, suffering from serious illnesses or losing their jobs, thereby contributing to stabilizing labor relations and ensuring social security.

At the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level, delegations will be organized to visit, give gifts, and wish a happy new year to union members and workers in difficult circumstances and with low incomes at enterprises, industrial parks, and export processing zones. Priority will be given to workers in remote areas, heavy, toxic, and dangerous occupations. The estimated expenditure is 1.3 million VND/person, including 1 million VND in cash and 300,000 VND in gifts.

Every year on the occasion of Tet, trade unions at all levels always organize activities to take care of workers.

Along with that, there are also major programs such as "Union Tet Market - Spring 2026" organized in localities with a large number of workers (expected in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City). The program provides essential goods and services at preferential prices, gives away shopping vouchers, gives away products at "0 VND" prices, discounts, and organizes legal and health consultations, provides medicine, and changes motorbike oil for free. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will also support some southern provinces and cities (such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh) to organize buses, trains, and flights to take workers home to celebrate Tet in the Central region (Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa) and the North.

At the provincial level, the Labor Federation and the grassroots level Labor Union will organize the "Union Tet Market - Spring 2026" program in Industrial Parks (IPs) and Export Processing Zones (EPZs). These Tet markets have "zero-dong booths," discount booths, free medical examination and treatment, and legal advice. These union levels also organize delegations to visit, give gifts, and wish union members a Happy New Year. The maximum level of care is 1,000,000 VND/person and is paid in cash. The provincial and municipal Labor Federations coordinate with enterprises to organize "Union Bus Trips - Spring 2026" or "Union Train Trips - Spring 2026", giving priority to union members in difficult circumstances or who have not returned home for many years.

Along with that, trade unions at all levels will increase dialogue and negotiation activities with employers on plans for salary payment, Tet bonus payment, and plans to increase regional minimum wages. Trade unions have the responsibility to monitor, inspect, supervise implementation, and promptly detect solutions to ensure the rights of union members and employees at businesses facing difficulties, unpaid wages, unable to pay bonuses, or business owners who have fled, dissolved, or gone bankrupt. Grassroots trade unions need to join with employers to publicly announce plans for salary payment and Tet bonus payment at least 20 days before Tet holiday.
