Expressing his joy at attending the Ceremony to Honor Enterprises with Many Efforts to Care for and Protect Workers in the "Outstanding Enterprises for Workers Program" in 2023, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai warmly congratulated and commended the 64 enterprises honored today, representing the Vietnamese business community and workers, for the development of the community and the whole country.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai: These are typical enterprises representing many enterprises in various fields, in all regions and localities across the country that have constantly strived to overcome difficulties, innovated in production and business activities, maintained and kept stable growth in the difficult economic context after the COVID-19 pandemic, while at the same time doing a good job of taking care of the material and spiritual life of workers; harmoniously combining the interests of enterprises with the rights of workers, creating positive values ​​for society.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai stated: Today's event takes place at a very meaningful time when the Trade Union Congresses at all levels for the 2023-2028 term are being urgently completed, moving towards the 13th Vietnam Trade Union Congress at the end of this year, opening a period of development in a new context, building a comprehensively strong Vietnam Trade Union, a reliable support for union members and workers, a solid political and social foundation of the Party and State, thereby actively contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution 02-NQ/TW dated June 12, 2021 of the Politburo on innovation of the organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Unions in the new situation.

Caring for and protecting employees helps businesses develop sustainably

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai emphasized: In the process of growth and development of each enterprise, employees are the production resource, the key factor affecting the enterprise. Employees are the direct force creating economic value, nurturing corporate culture, contributing to the overall growth and development of the enterprise. Employees are also a driving force to promote innovation, creating competitive advantages for enterprises.

Therefore, caring for, protecting and creating long-term welfare for employees, building stable, sustainable and progressive labor relations are also factors that help businesses develop sustainably.

To achieve a harmonious and stable relationship, businesses need to consider each employee as their invaluable asset and each employee must also fully realize their responsibility for the overall development of the business.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai said that in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Party, Government and Prime Minister have given drastic and timely instructions to remove difficulties for businesses and workers.

In particular, support policies related to social security, labor, and employment have contributed to stabilizing the psychology of workers, retaining workers to continue to accompany businesses in many difficult times. At the same time, measures to stabilize and develop a flexible, effective, and sustainable labor market have also been prioritized and given great attention by the Party, Government, and Prime Minister.

Building harmonious, stable, progressive and substantive labor relations between enterprises and employees

According to comrade Le Minh Khai, on October 10, 2023, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong signed and issued Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW on building and promoting the Vietnamese business community in the new era. The new Resolution with new contents in the viewpoints, orientations and solutions for developing and promoting the Vietnamese business community will certainly usher in a new period of strong development for our country's business community, contributing to building a strong Vietnamese business community capable of taking on the pioneering task of realizing the goal and aspiration of making our country a developed, high-income country by 2045.

In this Resolution, the Politburo also directed that it is necessary to build harmonious, stable, progressive and substantive labor relations between enterprises and employees, promote the signing of collective labor agreements, harmonize the interests of enterprises and employees; periodically organize dialogues and conferences of employees in enterprises. Create conditions for trade unions to perform their functions and tasks, promote the role of a bridge between employees and entrepreneurs and enterprises, coordinate enterprise development, build business ethics and culture, and fulfill social responsibility.

Comrade Le Minh Khai emphasized that thanks to the correct guidelines and policies of the Party and State and the efforts of the Vietnamese business community and entrepreneurs, and the active support of the whole society, the business community has truly become the main material production force of the economy, playing a very important role in the cause of national construction and development.

Vietnamese enterprises have also been constantly developing in both quantity and quality, making great and important contributions to the cause of national construction and defense in many fields; being the main force, pioneering in creating many jobs and livelihoods for workers, contributing to poverty reduction and promoting socio-economic development. Currently, Vietnam has nearly 910 thousand operating enterprises, more than 31 thousand cooperatives and 5.5 million business households, contributing more than 60% of the country's GDP.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, Government, and Prime Minister, Comrade Le Minh Khai acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and important results of the business community and entrepreneurs, especially activities for workers, which have made an important contribution to the implementation of the Party and State's policies on rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, ensuring social security and the lives of the people and workers.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, in the coming time, the world economy and international situation will continue to develop in a complex and unpredictable manner with many new difficulties and challenges. Domestically, difficulties and challenges will continue to outweigh advantages.

In that context, to build an independent, strong and prosperous Vietnam, businesses more than ever need not only to make efforts, be creative, and flexibly restructure towards sustainable development, but also need to continue to affirm their role and social responsibility, especially towards employees, and create an increasingly better living and working environment.

Comrade Le Minh Khai affirmed that in the coming time, the Government and the Government leadership will continue to consistently accompany the business community. Continue to persevere in the goal of stabilizing the macro economy, controlling inflation, promoting growth, ensuring major balances of the economy. Maintain security, social order and safety so that the business community can feel secure in production and business, expand the market, create jobs for workers, and contribute to ensuring social security. Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai requested the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to coordinate with business associations to promote solutions to support enterprises in restructuring their labor force, improving the quality of human resources to meet the requirements of innovation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Develop and perfect policies to train high-quality human resources, approaching international standards to meet market requirements in the new situation.

For the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and trade unions at all levels, comrade Le Minh Khai suggested continuing to build and effectively implement the emulation movement to study, practice and improve vocational skills and lifelong learning among workers.

Strengthen legal consulting and propaganda activities so that workers comply with and understand labor laws, promptly support workers in changing careers, and introduce jobs to workers.

Strengthen dialogue, negotiation and consultation with employers on ensuring job maintenance, labor arrangement and resolving employee benefits in accordance with legal regulations.

Enhancing the position of Vietnamese enterprises

On the business side, comrade Le Minh Khai suggested: We need to constantly improve our competitiveness and reach regional and international levels. We need to further promote our proactiveness, dynamism and creativity to not only develop our own businesses but also strengthen our connections with each other to create a combined strength to elevate the position of Vietnamese businesses in the future.

Proactively innovate production and business models, restructure enterprises in association with development towards green economy, digital economy, circular economy, constantly innovate, create, build and enhance brands. Promote research, expand markets, diversify products, diversify supply chains.

Ensure full benefits for workers, continue to demonstrate social responsibility, actively participate in poverty reduction programs, repay gratitude, and contribute to strengthening national solidarity.

On the part of workers, comrade Le Minh Khai suggested: Proactively study, train, and improve vocational skills, working skills, and professional expertise to meet the requirements of the working environment in the new situation.

Support and accompany business owners and enterprises to create more economic values, maintain positive working relationships, and ensure a healthy working environment.

Comrade Le Minh Khai emphasized: The program to honor typical enterprises for workers is one of the specific actions to bring Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW dated June 12, 2021 of the Politburo on innovation of organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation and Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW dated October 10, 2023 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period into life. The program to honor typical enterprises for workers has truly become an event with positive influence, creating good effects in society and the business community.

Comrade Le Minh Khai hopes and believes that the program will continue to spread to many businesses to create inspirational stories, typical examples in the process of building the country in the new era, creating a combined strength to successfully implement the country's strategic goals by 2030 to become a high-middle-income country, and by 2045 to become a socialist-oriented developing country.

According to comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang, member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Confederation of Labor, the program "Typical enterprises for workers" is a practical activity with profound social and humane significance to commend and honor typical enterprises in caring for the material and spiritual life, actively improving the working environment of workers, paying attention to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations, aiming at the goal of enterprises developing quickly, strongly and sustainably, workers increasingly progressing, having a prosperous and happy life.

This is an annual activity chaired by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, coordinated by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, and the Labor Newspaper as the standing unit. As of 2022, the Program has ranked 447 enterprises, awarded the "Typical Enterprise for Workers" Award to 23 enterprises; 20 enterprises were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister; 176 enterprises were awarded Certificates of Merit by co-organizing agencies.

Promoting the achieved results, this year in the context of the whole country and the business community making efforts to overcome all difficulties, continue to restore production and develop the economy in the post-COVID-19 period, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and coordinating agencies have proactively developed plans and directed the early implementation of the program.

From the profiles of hundreds of registered enterprises, through many rounds of scientific, rigorous and objective selection, the Selection Council proposed and the Program Steering Committee unanimously agreed to honor 64 enterprises with outstanding achievements in the movement "Enterprises for Workers". The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry awarded Certificates of Merit to 30 enterprises.

According to comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang, in the context that most businesses are struggling and coping with numerous difficulties, the good news is that most businesses are still finding ways to maintain jobs, ensure income, and constantly improve the lives of workers.

The businesses honored today are typical of those commendable businesses. Many of them have proactively sought additional sources of work and markets beyond traditional jobs and markets, and have trained and retrained their employees so that they have the knowledge and skills to meet new job requirements.

These are businesses that temporarily put aside their profit targets to reserve resources to supplement welfare and provide special care for workers after the COVID-19 pandemic; businesses that have special policies for children of workers who unfortunately died due to the pandemic; businesses that have paid social insurance premiums that are the responsibility of workers; businesses that have supported workers with rent and childcare; businesses that have persistently improved the working environment and actively carried out social responsibilities, etc.

This is a very commendable effort in the context that businesses are still facing many difficulties, the number of orders is decreasing, a number of workers are losing their jobs, are underemployed, and many businesses are having difficulty dissolving or going bankrupt.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang emphasized that the efforts of enterprises honored as enterprises for workers are the collective responsibility together with the Trade Union organization to care for and encourage workers to work enthusiastically with high productivity and good quality for the development of the enterprise, of the country, for the increasingly better life of workers.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang hopes that there will be more businesses for the workers. Surely workers across the country will devote themselves to the development of businesses, for the development of the country, so that we can join hands to build our country prosperous, our people increasingly prosperous, happy.
