This year, the Vietnam Women's Union celebrates its 94th anniversary. This day is also chosen as Vietnamese Women's Day at home and abroad.
In addition to March 8 (International Women's Day), Vietnamese people have an additional day, October 20, dedicated to Vietnamese women.
Origin of October 20
On October 20, 1930, the Vietnam Anti-Imperialist Women's Association (now renamed the Vietnam Women's Union) was officially established.
To mark this event, the Communist Party of Vietnam decided to choose October 20th every year as the traditional day of Vietnamese women. This is also the day to celebrate and honor Vietnamese women, named "Vietnamese Women's Day".
Meaning of October 20
Throughout the history of our country, Vietnamese women have affirmed their important position in the cause of protecting, building and developing the country. In addition to their contributions to society, Vietnamese women also play a good role as mothers and wives in the family.

Therefore, October 20 was chosen as Vietnamese Women's Day, showing the Party and the whole society's respect for the important role and contributions of Vietnamese women.
October 20 is also an important milestone to confirm women's equal rights to vote and participate in political and social activities.
Whether in wartime or peacetime, Vietnamese women are always patriotic, intelligent, healthy, creative and graceful.
In 2024, Vietnamese Women's Day October 20 falls on Sunday. On this occasion, men can express their feelings and send love with meaningful wishes or lovely gifts...
