The cause is determined to be the fungus causing stem cracking and sap flow disease, yellow wilt disease (tree wilt disease).

The cause of gummosis disease on squash plants is the fungus Mycosphaerella melonis. The fungus develops and causes severe damage in humid and high temperature conditions, when plants are fertilized with excess nitrogen. The fungus survives in diseased plant residues, and in high temperature and humidity conditions, it will develop into a widespread epidemic.

For areas with low disease rates, areas where the disease has not appeared. Regularly visit the field, prune ineffective branches and old leaves to create ventilation for the squash beds. Clear drainage ditches to avoid flooding and not draining water in time when it rains. Uproot and destroy severely diseased plants, and apply lime to treat the source of the disease in the soil.

When the weather is foggy at night or when the tree's leaves and stems are dense and green, use biological products containing antagonistic fungi Trichoderma... or drugs such as: Booc - do, Coc 85 WP, Champion 77WP to water and spray to prevent disease. When the tree is sick, use one of the drugs such as: Revus opi 440SC, Score 250EC, Aliette 80WP, Ridomil Gold 68WP... to spray.

To achieve high efficiency when using fungicides, spray again after 4-5 days. During the treatment period, reduce the amount of water, absolutely do not wet the stem and leaves when watering; limit nitrogen fertilizer, supplement calcium and potassium for plants to help plants recover faster.

Soil disinfection before planting is very important.

For areas that have been continuously planted for many cycles, areas that have been seriously affected: The following cycles need to treat the soil with lime powder before planting and comply with density and care techniques. It is recommended that people rotate crops with other crops in the cucurbit family.
