At the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese athletics team won 12 gold medals (10 individual gold medals, 2 relay gold medals), 20 silver medals (19 individual silver medals, 1 relay silver medal), and 8 bronze medals. The team was awarded a total of VND2,860 billion from the state budget. Of which, VND1,545 billion was for the athletes; VND1,315 billion was for the coaches (direct coaches and grassroots coaches). Nguyen Thi Oanh, with 4 gold medals, received VND180 million.
